The success and final outcome of this project required a lot of guidance and

assistance from many people and we extremely fortunate to have got this all along the

completion of our project work. Whatever we have done is only due to such guidance and

assistance and we would not forget to thank them.

opportunity to do the project work in our school and providing us all support and guidance which

 CHAPTER 1

I. INTRODUCTION

Accidental house fires remain a serious safety threat to homeowners, renters, and

their families. Each year, roughly 3,400 people are killed in home fires or by burn injuries,

making them the third-most-common cause of accidental deaths at home. Eight out of 10 fire-

related deaths occur at homethe place that is the very embodiment of comfort and security.

Fires are the accidents which occur most frequently, especially at home. Fires can

start suddenly and spread quickly, damaging your home and furniture and putting lives in danger.

Everyone should be aware of danger caused by fire accident so that it can be avoided.

This project will make a circuit to prevent fire accidents. A Simple Home Fire Alarm

is a very useful device for security purpose at home. It is designed to detect the unwanted

presence of fire automatically. It will also serve as the warning alarm to inform all the people at

home, so they can act and evacuate immediately.

II. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

 BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) Bipolar junction transistor, or commonly known as

BJT, is a type of transistor that uses both electron and hole charge carriers. The basic function of

a BJT is to amplify current. This allows BJTs to be used as amplifiers or switches, giving them

wide applicability in electronic equipment.

The main objective of this project is to show the function and importance of BJT (Bi-

polar Junction Transistor) in a circuit, in this case, a Simple Home Fire Alarm circuit is a good

example. The key component of this output is thermistor, which has been used as fire detector or

fire sensor. Thermistor is a temperature sensitive resistor, whose resistance changes according to

the temperature, its resistance decreases with the increase in temperature and vice versa.

BJT's are widely known for its usefulness and it plays an important role in this

electronically-inclined world. In this project, the BJT will act as a switch which turns on the

alarm whenever a sensor detects the presence of fire, otherwise it remains off.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

IV. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

 The significance of Fire Alarm System this project is for every individual to be aware

about this device. Everyones awareness of a potential use of a meek circuit as this one, but has a

high impact on saving ones life and home. Fire alarm systems are important in providing

occupants of buildings prompt warning if a fire occurs. Alarm systems are primarily designed to

warn occupants of a fire so that they may safely evacuate the premises.
For Homeowners, who are the main beneficiary of this study. Each homeowner

shall install their own Fire Alarm Systems so that they may be aware or warn if there is a fire that

will occur. That is also the reason why the research conducts this study. Unlike to those who are

living in a buildings or condominiums, the fire alarm systems are already built on their premises.
For every student, they shall learn how to make this device so that they can

assemble their own Fire Alarm detector on their own. The researchers believe that every school

shall implement seminars that will give every student a knowledge about this device, which is

very useful and trouble-free in their households. *good insight *
