Sewage Treatment Plant - Process

Raw Sewage Collection Tank

The waste water from toilets and kitchen is fed to the raw sewage collection tank after passing
it through the bar screen where the solid waste is removed and through the oil and grease
trap where the oil and grease are removed.

Raw Sewage Pump

The waste water from toilets and kitchen is fed from the raw sewage collection tank to MBBR
stations through raw sewage pumps.

Air Blower

Air Blower blows the outside air into the waste water from toilets and kitchen in the MBBR

Aeration Tank

The waste water from toilets and kitchen is aerated in the MBBR stations to help the growth of
bacteria. This process is used for reducing the BOD and Nitrification & Denitrification.

Settling Tank

The biomass sludge formed is allowed to settle in the sludge drying bed and the filter water
gets stored in the filter feed sump which through the filter feed pump is fed forward to sand
filter. Alum dosing is done here to help the sludge settling process. It also decreases the pH

Sand Filter

The sand filter is used to remove the odor, taste and impurities from the water without using
any chemical usage.

Carbon Filter

The carbon filter is also used to remove the odor, taste and impurities like chlorine or volatile
organic compounds from the water with the use of chemical adsorption.

Treated Water Tank

The finally filtered water is then sent to the treated water tank through the treated water line.
Hypo chlorite dosing is done to disinfect the water.
