financing decision is whether profits earned by the business should be retained rather than
distributed to shareholders via dividends. If dividends are too high, the business may be
starved of funding to reinvest in growing revenues and profits further.

Marketing deals with identifying and meeting human and social needs. One of the
shortest definitions of marketing is meeting needs profitable.

A market can be considered as a convenient meeting place buyers and


sellers gather together for exchange of goods and services.

Marketing is typically seen as the task of creating, promoting and delivering


goods and services to consumers and businesses. Marketing people are involve in
marketing ten types if entities goods, services, experiences, events, persons,
places, properties, organizations, information and ideas.

Marketing has often been described as The Art of Selling Product.

Human resource is the greatest asset of any business enterprise. The workers are the
heart of the organization. It is the manpower that operates the machines, processes the
raw materials into finished product and makes it possible to sale in the market.
Hence we can say that personnel management is the most essential department of an
organization in order to achieve individual, social and organization goals. Personnel
management is the link between the top management and the workers.
It acts like a bridge between the employers and employees. It is basically concerned
with human relationship within the organization and helps in maintaining smooth
relationship between employee and employers.
With reference to Indian Rayon, the personnel department of which is divided into 2
divisions:
HR & Training
Personnel Department

TIME KEEPING SYSTEM


Indian Rayon has adopted a very good time keeping system. The unit has installed
computerized time keeping system. In the system, all employees including staff members and
workers have been issued punch cards. There are seven punching machines that have been
fixed and connected with computer. Out of this, six are of the main gate and one is at HR
Department. When the employee enters in the premises he has to punch this card in any
machine and has to do the same thing at the time of exit also. Time office department of the
company keeps the attendance register. Many workers have been given attendance slip also.
In this system, the workers are supposed to fill their slip at the time of entry as well as at the
time of exit. The registrar collects the data through computer and their salary and wages are
prepared according to this collected data.

There are 4 shifts in the Company. They are:

For Officers 8:30 am to 12:30 pm


1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Officers Lunch Time: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

For Workers
Shift A06:45 am to 02:45 pm
Shift B 02:45 pm to 10:45 pm
Shift C 10:45 pm to 06:45 am

Workers Lunch Time


Shift A10:45 am to 11:45 pm
Shift B 06:45 pm to 07:45 pm
Shift C 03:45 pm to 04:45 am

Each and every employees working hours are fixed i.e. 8 hours. The employees are given
leave as per the Companys rule. The overtime payment rate is double then usual payment
rate.
