Goodbye Trump

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump does not represent what the Republican

Party or the United States is about according to many former republican supporters. Since Trump

has been selected as the republican presidential candidate numerous followers have left the

Republican Party. Former republican supporter Ray Sizemore said, Donald Trump ruined the

Republican Party for me; I dont want to belong to a party led by somebody like Trump.

Sizemore is a Hampton native and senior political science major at Hampton University.

Sizemore was formally involved in the Republican Party around the Hampton Roads area and

looked forward to this years election. Since the selection of Trump for the republican side,

Sizemore has joined the Libertarian Party. Sizemore said, Ive always supported the Libertarian

Party I voted for Ron Paul in these most recent primaries the most libertarian and without the

Republican Party the Libertarian Party is my most natural home.

This is not something that is uncommon, first time voter and former undecided Isaiah

Tillotson said, Donald Trump helped to make my decision when it came to picking a candidate,

which is why I will be voting for Hillary Clinton in this upcoming election. Tillotson a senior

computer science major from Upper Marlboro, Maryland said, The ignorant and racist remarks

from Trump made it impossible for me to vote for Trump.

Trump has said countless offensive things about certain races, religions, and genders.

Among those statements Trump said that he will build a wall between the Unites States and

Mexico to stop illegal immigration. Sierra Lopez an active duty member of the United States
Coast Guard and former Republican Party supporter said, Donald Trump truly ruined the

Republican Party for me I have many family members that came to the United States through

immigration and have done great things while here. She continued by saying, The fact that he

categories all immigrants as bad is a horrible mindset that does not belong in the White House.

Nothing steered up as much controversy as the comments Trump made about groping

women in a 2005 tape released by Access Hollywood. After the release of this graphic content

many republican supporters left Trumps side. According to USA Today, Republicans have left

trump in record numbers. Among 331 republican governors, senators, and congressman 87 of

them are not supporting Trumps candidacy. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley said, I certainly

wont vote for Hillary Clinton, but I cannot and will not vote for Donald Trump.

Many of the republican officials went to social media to show their disgust as Nebraska

Senator Deb Fischer said, The comments made by Mr. Trump were disgusting and totally

unacceptable under any circumstances. It would be wise for him to step aside and allow Mike

Pence to serve as our partys nominee. Ohio Governor John Kasich said, I cannot and will not

support Donald Trump for president. He has forfeited the right to be our partys nominee.
