France is against the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Syrian government
forces used chemical weapons in opposition-controlled parts of Aleppo during battles
to retake the city.

There have been a number of high profile terrorist attacks since 2015
across France. On 13 November 2015 terrorist attacks killed 130 and
injured hundreds more at multiple sites across Paris. On 14 July 2016, 84
people were killed when a truck was driven through a crowd of people on
the promenade in Nice. On 3 February 2017, a knife attack inside the
Louvre museum complex in Paris injured a French soldier. The attacker
was arrested.

In retaliation for the November 2015 Paris attacks, the French Air Force
significantly intensified airstrikes against ISIL targets in Syria, hitting
among other targets the Syrian city of Raqqa, the de facto capital of ISIL.

Our country is currently the worlds third top financial contributor,


providing as much as 7.22% of all funds allocated to this noble goal.
France has not only provided a vital amount of funding, it has also been
an active contributor of troops, especially in Africa, training more than
30,000 peacekeepers in the region.
