Machine messages
- an error in the wiring of the push buttons, refer to the Elec manual
- the MCB board is defective
Because of a short circuit in the wiring component L9 on the MCB board could be defective, no
26Vdc will be available for the hand stop circuit: the message will appear as well.
Measure the 26VDC at the input and the output of the MCB board, use the drawing "26VDCS".
The component is defective if the voltage is present at the input but not at the output of the MCB
board : remove the short circuit before replacing the MCB board.
Use the same drawing : every cable connected to the 26Vdc after this component L9 could create
the short circuit.
The message could indicate that the first contact is closed without the push button being pressed
(because the second contact stays open).
It's also possible that the second contact does not close while the push button is pressed (because
the first contact is closed).
In both cases the drawings have to be used to locate the cause of the problem :
- drawing "Control buttons : detections".
- drawing "Control buttons : safety logic".
- MCB board is defective.
Possible causes:
- resolver settings incorrect;
- main motor overload;
- defective resolver;
- a wiring fault between the resolver and the MCB print (wire 52);
- defective MCB print;
- defective DDMP print;
- defective PB print;
- main motor malfunction.

RESYNCHRONIZATION OK
For information only, not an error message: the synchronization procedure has been completed
successfully after pressing a push button. By pressing the push button again, the action expected is
carried out.
0556 SUMO
RESYNCHRONIZATION FAILS
An error has occurred in the drive system synchronization. The source of the fault is the fact that the
SUMO/PB phase(*) is DEFECTIVE
1. First examine the PB print, the motor and connections for any visible damage. (also in the motor
collar, remove cover). Use a megger to measure the motor phases (insulation test (disconnect
phases)) and compare ohmic resistance values (+/220 Mohm). Take the required actions for the
replacement or repair of the print and/or the motor.
After the replacement of a defective motor please do carry out the procedure below to check whether
there are no defects on the PB print.
2. Take into account the possibility of several defects occurring, where one defect may be the cause
of the other.
Using the procedure DDMM manual mode described below it can be examined whether one or
several phases of the PB and/or the motor are defective.
- switch off the brake (Note: it is best to remove the tension from the warp.)
- go to page DDMM MAN (manual).mode on the terminal
- energize phase A with 50A during a few seconds.
One should be able to hear that the phase is energized, or see movement. One should also see a
chopper frequency which for the aligned position should be approximately 500Hz.
If this is the case, switch off phase A and repeat this for the other phases (B, C, D).
If it is not the case, this implies that the phase concerned on the PB or in the motor is defective.
Switch off phase A and repeat this for the other phases (B, C, D).
Now, to check whether the problem is located on the print or in the motor, switch phases A with C
and B with D (1st with 3rd and 2nd with 4th). Now repeat the DDMM manual mode procedure. After
switching the phases, PB phase A now controls motor phase C, PB phase C controls motor phase A,
PB phase B controls motor phase D and PB phase D controls motor phase B.
If the same PB phases are defective, the problem is located on the print, otherwise it is in the motor.
Note: if in the first test phases B and D do not work, you should not switch them with each other but
with the other phases.
The print may have become defective as the result of a bad motor.
0557 DDMP

signals originating from the control push buttons will be ignored, with the exception of signals from
the stop and emergency stop push buttons.
The machine action or slow motion cannot be performed because the machine is not in the weaving
position.
When the machine is slowing down, the motor generates energy which is sent back to ELCOs. If too
much energy is being generated, it is dumped into a load resistor. The dumping of energy into the
load resistor is detected by the microprocessor on the DDMP print. If the microprocessor detects that
energy is being dumped while the machine is not slowing down, the machine will be stopped.
Possible causes:
- the voltage connected to the machine is too high.
- defective PB print.
- one of the ELCOs on the PB print is defective
Possible causes:
- no resolver is connected
- wire 52 has come loose or is defective
- defective resolver
- defective MCB print.
- defective DDMP print
When the machine is slowing down, the motor generates energy which is sent back to ELCOs. If too
much energy is being generated, it is dumped into a load resistor. When the machine is being
slowed down frequently, it may happen that the temperature in the resistor becomes too high. In this
case the machine start-up will be prevented for a specific period.

0903 SUMO
RESYNCHRONIZATION FAILED
PHASE(S) [0] FAILED
