Dear Colleagues,
The year has started with a bang Chegg India has
had a great H2 2016 in terms of the expected
deliverables

To me, the beginning of every New Year brings with it

the opportunity and the excuse to make a new start.
Part of the exhilaration that accompanies every year is
the optimism that starting over is possible and the
belief that new beginnings can create new and
successful outcomes.

This time of the year we all are setting goals. If I have

learned anything in the past years, it is that if you set
small goals, you get small results. If you set big goals, sometimes you are disappointed, but
more often than not, you get big results.

My ambition for Chegg India is to become a truly great company. Great companies are
innovative, that is for certain. But the best of them combine that innovation with superior
execution. They do what they say they are going to do, and deliver superior results for their
stakeholders. They find new ways to delight their customers.

They have passionate and committed employees who continue to learn and grow. They do

Chegg's first Analyst and Investor Day
Chegg Inc. hosted its first analyst and investor
day on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in New
York, NY. The event included a series of
presentations by Cheggs management team to
discuss the state of the education market,
Cheggs unique student first services and
strategy for continued growth.

Impact of Add-a-Dollar
Chegg Inc. featured two organizations The School
Fund and DonorsChoose.org on its web platform.
Both of these organizations provide innovative
ways to donate and to see where those donations
go. For every dollar that a person donates to the
School Fund while buying textbooks on Chegg,
he/she will be able to connect with the individuals
who are impacted by that dollar.

CHEGG The HR Team, Vizag, participated in a Job fair on the 16th and 17th

December, and succeeded in carving a niche for itself as a potential
employer and a unique brand, with immense response in the form of
footfalls over 1500 in number. A remarkable achievement and a
LIGHTS milestone by Chegg HR Vizag!

New Policies

caring for its employees
and making it a great
and a happy workplace!
Thus, to add more
feathers to its cap,
Chegg India introduced
the following policies:
Health is Wealth! Chegg understands this and desires to keep its employees happy and
healthy. To ensure this, Chegg India upgraded its Health Insurance Plan to protect
employees and their family. Now, all the Chegg employees will be covered under the
heath insurance from day 1 of their joining the company, as against a wait of 1 year of
employment completion to be eligible to avail this benefit. To add to this, employee's
spouse and a maximum of two kids also get the same coverage from the date of joining.
All the existing employees who were out of the purview of this benefit previously will now
be eligible to avail this benefit effective November 17, 2016.
To promote a more productive company culture, Chegg India upgraded its Employee
Leave Policy. Highlights of Employee Leave Policy are as follows:
Employees can now avail 27 days of leaves annually. 12 Casual Leaves (CLs)/ Sick
Leaves (SLs) + 15 Privileged Leaves (PLs), per annum.
The PLs can now be accrued and carried forward to the next calendar year up to a
maximum of 45 days.
PLs shall be payable along with the full and final settlement at the time of employees
exit.
The new policy was made effective with the date of January 1, 2016. For new joiners,
the same shall be applicable on a pro-rata basis.
 Diwali Celebrations
Diwali is one of the most awaited festivals,
when candles, earthen lamps, and fairy lights
adorn houses and offices. Chegg India too
celebrated the festival of lights with
exuberance and zeal in both Delhi and Vizag
offices. Cheggsters decked up in traditional
Indian attire, filled with zest, kick-started the
event with a skit followed by dance and
singing performances. No Diwali celebration
is complete without the mention of
Ramayana - the tale of victory of good over
evil, knowledge over ignorance,
and most importantly light over darkness.

Navratri Celebrations
Navratri, a 9-day autumn festival, not only
symbolizes the triumph of good over evil but
also celebrates the spirit of Indian culture in
its togetherness. Vivid hues painted the walls
of Chegg as Cheggsters came on the dance
floor, adorning the jazziest outfits, to
celebrate the spirit of Navratri. Cheggsters
along with our team from the US - Nathan
Schultz, Joshua Huff, Ashit Joshi, and Jenny
Brandemuehl danced with gay abandon to
the beats of traditional Dandiya songs.
Though the dance began with a slow tempo,
the energy level of the crowd gained
momentum with the fast beat
and tempo of the music. The
rhythmical striking of the

creating a musical effect, was a

ended with everyone feasting on

Christmas, the season of joy and forgiveness, brings with it candies, reindeer, Christmas trees
and carols, and most important of all SANTA. Besides the great weather, sometimes freezing,
theres a tangible festivity in the air with everyone experiencing end-of-year abandon.
Ministry of culture (MOC) organized a Christmas Party in Chegg Delhi on 23rd December.
Amidst the frosty winter, Cheggsters warmed up their spirit by playing Secret Santa, every
member of each department was randomly and anonymously assigned to bring a gift for
another member. Imran Khan (Director of Content - TM) donned the attire of Santa and
distributed mini Xmas gifts among the Cheggsters. The celebration ended with everyone
relishing the delicious chocolate cake and reveling in melodious music.
