Alloy

steel plates

Chome Moly steel plate, formally known as Chrome Molybdenum, is
usually sold as ASTM A387 or ASME SA387. A387 is alloy steel
plate that is designed for use in pressure vessels, process vessels
and boilers operating at high temperatures.
There are ten grades of Chromium Molybdenum steel plate (A387) 2,
12, 11, 22, 22L, 21, 21L, 9 and 91 specified by ASTM/ASME, though
A387 grades 2, 21, 21L and 22L are generally not available at steel
stockholders and have to be ordered in mill quantities. Chrome moly
grades 9 and 91 are also less popular and are often difficult to obtain.
We also have the EN10028-3 equivalents to A387 available 16Mo3,
13CrMo4-5, 10CrMo 9-10 and 12CrMo 1.5.

ASTM A387 GR 5 CL 1 AND CL2

ASTM A387 Grade 5 is defined by the ASTM/ASME

A387/A387M standard differs from the other grades covered
by the standard in the chromium and molybdenum content of
the steel
A387 Grade 5 steel plate is available ex-stock for immediate
delivery. A387 grade 5 is a high quality chromium
molybdenum steel plate rolled by German or Western
European mills and kept in a covered warehouse
to ensure it is delivered in excellent condition.
Like other low alloy pressure vessel steels it is intended for
use it pressure vessels and boilers where the temperature is
high. ASTM A387 Grade 5 is particularly suited to this
application because of the chromium and molybdenum
alloying elements.
It finds wide application in the oil and gas industry and in the
power industry where hot liquids and gases are often being
transferred between different processing modules.

ASTM A387 GR 11 CL 2

A pressure vessel grade steel for use in elevated
temperature service, ASME SA387 Grade 11 Class 2 is
used in a variety of industries and is highly effective,
particularly in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry,
where liquids and gases are often stored at higher
temperatures. The higher levels of chromium also provide
excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, which is a
must in sour gas applications.

ASTM A387 GR 22 CL2

We supply ASME SA387 Grade 22 Class 2 plates to
fabricators serving the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
These industries require a pressure vessel grade steel which
works well in elevated temperatures and our material serves
this purpose well. And with good corrosion and oxidation
resistance, SA387 Grade 22 Class 2 plates are a good
option.

ASTM A387 GR 91 CL 2

Where resistance to high temperature and good anti-corrosion
characteristics are required, ASME SA387 Grade 91 Class 2
carbon alloy steel plate is a material to consider. It is a pressure
vessel grade steel which is used commonly by fabricators who
supply the oil and gas industry. Due to the materials excellent
corrosion resistant properties, SA387 Grade 91 is also an option
for use in sour service environments. The material has good
weldability and with its heat resistant qualities, the material is a
highly versatile steel which can be used in numerous applications.
