2017, the 20th year of the inception of G.Narayanamma Institute
of Technology & Science for women - we remember with pride the twenty
glorious years that the college has traversed, the achievements, the
challenges and the successes that we have experienced. We pay respects
to our pioneers who strived tirelessly to create an edifice that we are so
proud of today.
I, as the Principal of GNITS, am eager to make sure we continue to
move forward this year too providing a positive safe learning environment
that motivates our students to push themselves to their greatest potential.
This year the college has set for itself a high goal of National Board
of Accreditation (NBA). The application processing has been completed
and the visit of the NBA Team is scheduled from 21st to 23rd April 2017.
Urging all the stakeholders of this institution viz. the institution itself,
the Students, the Faculty & Staff, the Industry & Infrastructure Providers,
the Parents and the Alumni to take keen interest in adding further value

In this academic year, GNITS has witnessed a lot of advancements in
terms of infrastructure with up-gradation and addition of Laboratories,
enhanced number of Research Publications and acquisition of higher
qualifications by faculty members, organizing a number of workshops,
seminars and conferences including Technical skill-development
programmes for Non-teaching staff, and students achievements in various
Co and extra-curricular activities within and outside the college. Three
teams of GNITS have reached the grand finale of SMART INDIA
HACHATHON-2017, organized by AICTE.
It gives me pleasure to mention the achievements of our faculty.
Dr.K.Ragini, Prof., ECE Dept., has been conferred The Woman Achiever
Award, during the Accenture Companys Womens Day Celebrations-2017
in GNITS. Mrs.M.Nagasree, Sr.Asst.Prof. of Mathematics, has been the
Topper in the online course STOCHASTIC PROCESS I (20 Hrs. Course),
conducted by NPTEL, the certificate for which is given by IIT Madras.
Once again GNITS students have proved their academic excellence
in the University exams with high percentages. Even in a frozen market
situation, 2013-17 Batch students could secure a total of 621 Placement
offers.
During this academic year 2016-17, so far GNITS Sports teams have
participated in 11 inter-college Sports Meets, both at State and National
levels, and bagged a total of 46 Titles, in various events. Four students
have the credit of representing Telangana State for National Tournaments.
We inherited a strong foundation to march ahead and achieve the
academic objectives for a brighter future. Measures initiated by the Hon.
Management, steps taken by the college Administration, the willing
contribution of the teaching and non-teaching staff and the over whelming
response and enthusiastic participation of my dear students in the college
activities, in the past and the present, all vouch for this. We intellectually
challenge our students to become critical thinkers, inspire them to push
past their fears, and teach them to support one another so that they can
become leaders of their generation.

NBA the acronym standing for National Board of Accreditation
is synonymous with providing directions and opportunities
for future growth. Our institution with an enriching legacy of 2
decades known for quality education in Higher Education for
young women engineering graduates is all set to meet the
standards of NBA. Both our students and the faculty members
are fruitfully engaged in meeting the objectives and the outcomes
of the courses offered in enabling the students to grow as
effective team players, with a strong set of ethics, communication
skills and Zeal to outshine.
We as one of the premier Engineering Colleges in the states of Sri P. Subba Reddy, Chairman
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have established the trust to
nurture juvenile minds and to prepare them for challenges in todays globalised technology. The doors of our faculty members
are always open for any student who seeks help. We persuade all the students to use their time with professors and teaching
staff fruitfully and to develop their own proficiency skills in Engineering. The extra-curricular activities that include literary,
cultural, sports besides NSS and guest lectures on Professional Ethics and Personality Development reach wide and far every
student to bring out their best hidden potentials serving as add-ons for their vibrant and dynamic campus life.
The career prospects of the engineers and technlogists in the current digitalized world are wide-ranging and fulfilling. A well-
trained engineering graduate will be equally competent in research and professional positions, drawing upon her analytical,
practical and problem-solving skills. But we arent just about the technology. We look for, and develop creative problem solving
strengths in our students; at the same time, we encourage students to take part in various academic and technical events to
strike a balance between high academic quality and professional relevance. We hope and wish our endeavours towards NBA
will give us a new sense of direction and identity with significant improvements made for future growth.

There is no substitute to quality education because it helps

in changing the lives of thousands of individuals and their
families forever. This was precisely the mission with which
my grandfather Late Sri.G.Pulla Reddy founded GNITS,
Smt. G. Sri Vidya Reddy, Joint Secretary two decades ago. With pride we announce that we have
successfully realized the goals of the legendary founder in equipping scores of batches of young women engineers
with technical knowledge and capabilities, and an understanding of the societal context of professional world.
Our lofty credentials in terms of our academic, professional accomplishments, placements and alumni achievements
bear testimony to the same.
Those individuals who want to be leaders in Engineering in the world of tomorrow need to acquire a different set
of knowledge, attitude and skills. In this regard, the unique mission of the Institute is to nurture and train engineers
and leaders with a social conscience and an ability to deliver performance and attain excellence across cultures,
functions and geographies.
Therefore, we urge our students to focus on achieving unparalleled excellence by optimizing their potential, thereby
establishing the observation of the renowned Journalist Sydney J. Harris on the purpose of education which is to
turn mirrors into windows.

2016.

One Week workshop on Functional Approach to VLSI Design
from 17-10-16 to 22-10-16 by ECE department
A one week workshop on "Functional Approach to VLSI Design" was organized by the Department of ECE in collaboration with
IETE,Hyderabad Chapter and Core EL Technologies, Hyderabad from 17-10-16 to 22-10-16. The coordinators for the workshop were
Dr.K.Ragini, Professor ECE Department and Mrs. Deepthi Amuru,Assistant Professor,Department of ECE.
VLSI Design has become an important domain in the field of Digital and Analog circuits.
The aim of the workshop was provide a basic knowledge on advanced design concepts in
VLSI Design and motivate the faculty and students towards research in the field of VLSI.
This workshop provided the knowledge on system Verilog, different techniques for Low
Power Design, basics on Analog and mixed signal design and also provided hands on experience
using Xilinx Zynq boards and mentor graphics for backend circuit design. The major focus of
the workshop was to upgrade the research skills of teachers, especially those teachers who
have not had an opportunity to acquaint themselves with recent developments in research
methods .The workshop was a grand success with total participants of 44.Among this, 23
faculty were from different colleges,10 faculty from GNITS, 9PG students from TKRCET,one
PG student from Osmania university and one PG student from NMREC. A valedictory
function was held on 22-10-16 and certificates were issued for all participants. The workshop
has received a good feedback from participants both in terms of knowledge gained and
logistics arrangement.

Dr.N.Malla Reddy, Professor has taken charge as the Head
of the Department of EEE, on 01st January,17.Hereceived
B.Tech from SV UniversityTirupathi, M.Tech from JNTU-
Hyderabad,and Ph.D. with specialization in Power system
operation and control from JNTU-Hyderabad. He has over
19 years of experience in teaching. Mr. N.Malla Reddy has
been associated with GNITS since the inception of the EEE
department.He has over 7 publications in national and
international conferences and journals. He is a member of
IEEE and ISTE. He served as a member of organizing
committees of several student technical events,conferences
and workshops held in the department. His areas of interest
include Power electronics, Power systems, AC & DC Drives.

Program Educational Objectives

The department is headed by Dr.K.Rama Linga Reddy, who has
vast teaching experience of 25 Years including 8 Years at CBIT.
Currently 6 research scholars are pursuing Ph.D under his
guidance. He is a member of IEEE, IETE & ISTE. He has more
than 40 research publications to his credit in both National and
International journals.
Department Highlights
A. Naveena, P. Sreesudha have completed FF in the process
of receiving Ph.D. RRM2 successfully under JNTUH.
G. Swetha, Asst. Professor joined the department and has
been ratified by JNTUH.
30 students got placed in different MNCs through on campus
placements.

for the academic year 2016-17. She also got selected as Intern
at Apple Inc. She also been selected as Student President of
ISTE students chapter for the year 2016-17.
Team Gagan Saviours consisting of members T. Akhila,
Naina Sarda, M. Nikhila, Y. Pravalika, B. Mounika Sai of final
year under the guidance of V. VIKAS submitted a proposal
on GAGAN Positioning and Timing Information for Smart
India Hackathon 2017. It has been shortlisted for Grand
Finale to be held on 1-2 April 2017.

Following events were organized under IEEE SB GNITS and
WIE AG (Women in Engg. Affinity Group) from August-2016
till present
1.Seminar on Virtual Labs: On 1st-Sept 2016, Mr. Ravi Shankar
and Mr. Lalith Mohan from IIITH delivered a half day session
on Virtual Labs. About 100students attended the event from
various branches. During the workshop the students were
introduced to the Open edX platform, MOOC platform, various
labs available and also of executing experiments in Virtual
labs.
2. Workshop on IoT: This workshop was conducted by Smart
Bridge educational services on 10th & 11th Sept 2016, and
125 students participated with great interest. The students were
exposed to Hardware Integration, Software Programming,
Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Web & Mobile
applications.
3.Seminar on IEEE Xplore Digital Library:Anawareness
session on how to utilize the IEEE Xplore Digital Library was
held on 21st dec 2017 on by Morla Kamakshaiah,Senior Sales
Manager,GIST. The key issues discussed were how to - utilize
IEEE Xplore Digital Library, search for articles and papers on
the website, refine search on the website, create a personal
account on ieeexplore.ieee.org. Quizzing was done at the end of
the session when many students awarded with goodies.
4.Two day Workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical
Hacking:This workshop was conducted byE-MARSHALS
INFOSEC PVT.LTD on 20th&21st Jan 2017. The objective of the
workshop was to create awareness among students onethical
hacking techniques & information security and how to
implement them in a positivemanner. A total of 112 students and
10 faculty members have attended the workshop.Three top
performers in this workshop Nidhi N.N.N P (15251A05E3),
Srividya S.(14251A0453), M.Sravanthi (14251A0588 ), were
given the opportunity of doing advanced course of duration
one month for free registration.
5. Lecture on Power Grid and Studies Abroad:Alumna of GNITS,
Ms. Rupamathi perusing Ph.D at prestigious Carnegie Mellon
University, give an interesting talk on Power Grid and Studies
Abroad on 4th Feb 2017..
6. Paper presentation and Poster presentationis also planned

Persona is a fun learning forum that subsumes corporate etiquette to groom its members to become more confident, brave, articulate, expressive
and panache. Persona tookoff with a great bang this year (2016-17) by taking in 210 people to edify. It was a fruitful year which helped the
participants develop their personality. Starting from Chimney to Case Study Round, every session has made the participants evolve. The
sessions were conducted three times a week with 40-50 participants
per session from all the branches. As the rounds progressed, the
members enhanced their speaking skills, body
language,expressions,teamwork and overcame stage fear.Case
Study round was highly interactive as it touched on the problem-
solving skills of the students. It helped them mould themselves into
Professionals. Altogether, it was a whole new learning experience
for the members. The forum has shaped the students and boosted
their confidence to face the real world.

2 ConductedESPORT event on 8-1-2017 in GNITS HYDERABAD. GNITS NSS Unit organized Blood Donation Camp
ESPORTE is a flagship project of RAC GNITS. The funds generated through at GNITS campus on 16th Dec 2016 and there were
this event would be given to physically challenged sportsmen. More than 150 around 100 blood donors including staff.
rotaractors and 8 clubs participated in this event. This is a Sports event and many Student volunteers were deputed for a training program
competitions were conducted in which rotaractors participated with enthusiasm. on VittiyaSaksharataAbhiyaan at JNTUH. Our
students also conducted a seminar in the college for
students on Dec 30th.

An Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) has been functioning in GNITS in association with JNTUH, Hyderabad since 2007.
The cell conducts seminars/workshops/panel discussions by inviting entrepreneurs from various fields to encourage and nurture
