The Inca empire lasted from 1438 to 1532, until the Spaniards came and conquered them.

The Incas first appeared in the Andes region. The Incas grew because of their military strength
from their emperor, Tawantinsuyu. The Incas had 16 emperors from the start to the fall of their
empire. There is no accurate source that shows how the Incas started. However, there is a cave
called Pacaritambo, so its known that they originated from the cave. Once the Emperor starts
getting of old age, he chooses his favorite son to continue his rule. The Inca empire was
centralized. Incas believed and worshiped polytheism. Their god Viracocha, they believed that
he created the stars, earth, and all living things. Mama Quilla, was the goddess of the moon.
Pachamama, was the goddess of Earth. Inti the most important god, was the sun god, the
direct descendants of the Incas. The Incas prayed everyday. About once a month the priests held
a huge celebration. Their religion involved sacrifice frequently. The Inca calendar was based off
of the sun and moon. It had 12 lunar months and 30 days of each. The Incas language was
Quechua. The Incas would carry around a system of knotted strings, this device was called a
Quipu. It would send messages around their empire. The Incas architecture commonly involved
stone. Some seen their builds as fortified while others seen it as a cultural look. The Incas
mainly focused on town planning. Farming in the Inca Empire was a difficult job and life to
have. Farmers had hard time because of the rocky and uneven terrain. Artisans was a special job
in the Inca Empire. The people were specially selected. They made pottery at a fast rate. Mita
(Inca People) was a job construction based. They built roads, government buildings, transported
goods, mining, and even military service. Chasqui was a job in the Inca Empire. They were
basically the mailman. The people would run back and forth in the Empire to deliver messages.
Sorcerers was a mystical type job. They cast spells and predicted the future. They also
helped people overcome their goals. The main job was the Emperor. He controlled the economy,
people, religious events, warefare, almost all major decisions. Most trading was done on foot in
the Inca Empire. The Inca social class was divided in sections. First was the King or High Priest.
Whom was loved by everyone and treated with great respect. Then was council, which was apart
of the royal family. Thirdly, the Nobles, which was a high-class. This class was the only Incas
who had a chance of becoming the Sapa themselves. Then their was the Merchants and Artisans
who were the normal middle class citizens. Lastly we had the Commoners-Farmers (and slaves)
who were the poor working class. They were the 2nd and 3rd class citizens who were looked
down on.
