31% of earth is covered by plants which produce vital oxygen which helps
us humans to survive.
This 31% of the world is home to many species of all sorts which without
them the human population cannot survive, the forest supplies us food,
water, oxygen to breathe, medicine, clothing and shelters for us to live
under
Many forests around the world are endangered along with the species that
live within them, a well-known forest which is deforested almost every day
by being cut down burned etc. doing this creates lots of problems in the
world such at climate change, due to lack of trees the co2 cannot be
transferred into oxygen and also upsets the carbon cycle.
Climate change harms the lives of many on the planet including animals
too, 46-48 thousand miles of trees are destroyed each year which is
equivalent to 40 football fields a minute
Trees act as a co2 sponge soaking all the co2 that is released into the
atmosphere converting it into oxygen as a bi product for us to use and by
destroying them not only do we suffer but the atmosphere, it is estimated
that 15% of greenhouse gases are from deforestation
Trees help a lot with the water cycle too by keeping balance between how
much water is in the land and atmosphere and by cutting certain trees you
can disturb the water cycle such as the flow of rivers and precipitation.
Trees also prevent soil erosion and by cutting them down massive masses
of land can fill rivers making the water dirty and bad for all species that
use it
Q1) Clearly describe the issue you have selected and outline why it is a
current problem?
Land clearing is the worst threat to animals because by clearing land it directly
impacts the habitats of animals in a bad way, not only that but by destroying 1
habitat it could affect the entire ecosystem around it which could lead to
extinction of species.
