Everything for smooth running

Minor cause, major impact!

When shafts are well-aligned with their
axes colinear machines run smoothly.
Misalignment is the underlying cause for
around 50% of all machine failures. The
ensuing downtime, production losses and
repairs can generate staggering costs.

The answer to these problems is provided

by laser-based measurement systems.

Our laser-based, contact-free
alignment systems measure
to a precision of one
thousandth of a millimeter.
They calculate the correction
values needed to achieve
good alignment and record
the alignment condition.
Alignment of bores
and bearing shells
Laser systems now make it
possible to objectively deter-
mine whether or not circular
machine components as
they are used in turbines

Straightness & flatness
The straightness and
flatness of surfaces, founda-
tions, machine beds, tables
and flanges can be measured

Roll parallelism

Parallel rolls in paper ma-
chines are critical for paper
quality. A new, patented
procedure makes it possible
for the first time to quickly
obtain precise information
on the exact position of the
rolls in a system.

Monitoring of
positional changes
Very small positional changes
in machines can be recorded
by a non-contacting method
during operation. Machine
operators use this informa-
tion to initiate appropriate
measures to compensate for
shifts in position.

PC-Software
ALIGNMENT CENTER is the
PC software common to all
alignment systems. It can
be used to clearly visualize
measurement results in
graphic displays, and to
record and archive the data.

Only detected faults can be prevented

40 years experience a good basis for the

future. At NDT we ensure that manufacturers
of semi-finished products and their customers
obtain products of the best possible quality.
Our eddy current and flux leakage testing
equipment of the EDDYCHEK and NOVAFLUX
series detect flaws in semi-finished metal
products, which are then marked and sorted
out. Our systems are also employed in the
optimization of production processes and the
reduction of scrap.

Our applications can be found in the following areas:
Tube mills
Tube manufacturers use
NDT devices coupled with
a variety of sensors for
tube leakage testing. The
testing method meets the
requirements of recognized
international standards.
Wire production
Wire drawing lines and
recoiling plants employ eddy
current testing together with
rotating systems, which excel
in the reliable detection of
longitudinal defects and
grooving.
Special tube applications
Special sensors and testers
developed specifically for this
field enable the inspection of
thick-walled tubing.
Bar mills
Producers of high quality
steel bar rely on the latest
NDT product, a magnetic
flux leakage tester, for
detecting very small cracks
and imperfections on black
and bright steel bar.

Hot rolling mills
Water-cooled sensors
are used in eddy current
testing at temperatures of
up to 1200 C and at very
high speeds to create flaw
statistics and monitor the
production process.
Manufacture of
formed parts
NDT testing equipment
checks cold heading wire
before it enters a cold
former, without interrupting
the production process.
After forming, the defective
parts are automatically
sorted out.

which features a unique set of technical specifications the
granite measurement table and the 11 meter measurement
bench together with their foundation tip the scale at 66 tons
