The Inconvenient Truth?

Before I made review of this type of documentary movie, I want to brief explain the
background of this movie. Overall, this movie tells us about whats happening in our worlds
in the last two decades. Most people they live their life without even noticing whats going on
in this world they lived in. Whats really happening is our world is slowly dying by the act of
our own wrong doing in our daily basis. Because without realizing, we used too much gas for
running our machine, our transportation, our electricity. We used too much paper. Mankind is
evolving. To provide their needs, they build many building, many infrastructure, and so build
many factory that produce so much waste products that damaging our recently environment.
Not many people educated enough to know that using too much gas for our daily needs
means building up the heat entropy that causes greenhouse effect. Using too much papers
means the company have to produce more papers. Means, the company have to cut down
more trees to make more papers. Insufficient number of trees, cause the planet to not able to
hold up the heat entropy that cause the greenhouse effect. Not to mention the factories that
produce so much waste that damaging the land, water, and air where our organism live. That
will cause not just the glass house effect and ruining the food chain.

This documentary movie is made to educate people about the importance of taking
responsibility of our own home (world/planet earth). Regardless of how I feel about Al Gore
as a politician, this documentary is worth seeing because of the gravity of the issues
discussed. Gore proves to be a worthy spokesman and his arguments are clear and concise at
the beginning of the film. In other words, you do not need to be a scientist to understand what
he is saying about the environment and the consequences of global warming. He is an
effective communicator and good at explaining the problem in layperson's terms. Al Gore
himself has had the bitter experience about how the environment is damaged. Because of the
polluted air nowadays, He had his sister killed by lung cancer caused by the polluted air
itself.

Throughout the movie, Gore discusses the scientific opinion on global warming, as
well as the present and future effects of global warming and stresses that global warming "is
really not a political issue, so much as a moral one," describing the consequences he believes
global warming will produce if the amount of human-generated greenhouse gases is not
significantly reduced in the very near future. Gore also presents Antarctic ice coring data
showing CO2 levels higher now than in the past 650,000 years. Gore is clear about the danger
of being overwhelmed by the danger of what's happening, and he concludes the film by
saying that going from denial to despair without pausing to see what can be done is the wrong
course of action, or rather inaction. "Political will," Gore says, "is a renewable resource."
Gently, but firmly, he calls for attention to a clear and present danger that cannot be ignored,
even if faith-based denial of the evidence before us remains largely the order of the day, with
all the comfort of darkness behind closed eyes.

According to this documentary movie, the greenhouse effect is process by which

radiation from planets atmosphere warms the planets surface to a temperature above what it
would be in the absence of its atmosphere. Greenhouse effects found by Joseph Fourier in
1824. The causes of greenhouse effect is the increasing of greenhouse gases including the
carbon dioxide (CO2). The increasing of greenhouse gases caused by usage of gasoline,
coal, and the other organic compounds.

The film's thesis is that global warming is real, potentially catastrophic, and human-
caused. Including the research of Mauna Loa Observatory, University of Bern, and EPICA.
Greenhouse effect makes the extreme changing of climate recently. This make a new
problem. It will damaged the ecosystem. The ability of trees and forest to reduce the CO 2
level in earth is reduced, that makes the level of CO 2 in this planet increasing into a new level.
It will cause the increasing of temperature. On Earth, solar radiation at the frequencies of
visible light largely passes through the atmosphere to warm the planetary surface. The surface
itself emits energy at the lower frequencies of infrared thermal radiation. Infrared radiation is
absorbed by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases also radiate energy, some of
which is directed to the surface and lower atmosphere. The mechanism is named after the
effect of solar radiation passing through glass and warming a greenhouse, but the way it
retains heat is fundamentally different as a greenhouse works by reducing airflow, isolating
the warm air inside the structure so that heat is not lost by convection. The increasing of
temperature, makes the ice at the Antarctic melt and annually the increasing of the sea water
level.

According to simulation calculations, the greenhouse effect has increased the Earth's
average temperature 1-5 C. If the trend of increasing greenhouse gases remain as it is now
will lead to an increase in global warming between 1.5 to 4.5 C around the year 2030. With
increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, the more heat waves reflected from the
surface of the earth absorbed the atmosphere. This will result in the surface temperature of
the earth increases.

According to my opinion, this kind a movie is one of a great source of example to

educate people about the danger of global warming. Because not many people aware that
theyre sitting in a time bomb. The effect may not be felt now, but it surely cost lives in the
future, it may be our childrens health, or it may even cause our planet to stop functioning.

It correlates with the growth of human being in the planet, the more uneducated
people we have on this planet the more irresponsible act we have that will destroy the
environmental and causing the greenhouse effect. By watching this documentary we may
acknowledge whats really going on and also learning the solution about it.

We of course going to need the use of gasses, papers, factory, plastic, and so on. But
we got to know the how to use it as wise as possible. For example we have to consider the
how much land we use before we build a factory, we have to figure it out where it has to be
placed, where the waste has to go, and also we have to leaves space for the green. Because
the trees and the plants is used to counter the gases thats produced by our cars and factory.

And also its important for educational organization to teach children about the
greenhouse effect so they may reduce the habit relating damaging the environment. They
have to know early about the danger about using plastic product because it cant be dissolve,
they have to learn to save water, and to save paper. I believe that a simple good habit may just
change the world. Imagine those educated children grow to be a responsible adult that aware
about the environment. Our planet would be so habitable and will last so much longer
compare to the one we have now.

We cant be selfish to just think about our need nowadays. We got to think ahead.
Think about the durability of this planet, think about our future generation that will live in the
same planet. What will happen in the future if we keep ruining the environment. I hope more
people will make more educational source about environmental awareness like this movie to
embrace people to take care our home.
