In 1991 the output of Russia contracted catastrophically has been a clich,

because their GDP per capita decreased by a 39%, but on the other hand, it is
said that the economy was better. First, because the introduction of markets
made businesses stop making consumer goods that they could not sell, so this
reduce economic output. Second, while the official GDP reduce by a 26%, the
electricity consumption did it by an 18% only, which exaggerates the drop in
production. Finally, other statistics show that living standards improved by
increasing household consumption by a 3% (Shleifer, 2005).

Russia has experienced a financial crisis leading to expending the savings of

people and made the new post-communist regime in 1998, resulting in the new
privatized economy, taking control over the Russian State (Cox, 2014). The
financial crisis enables the people who accumulated cash to buy companies at
depressed prices without corrupt deals (Treisman, 2016).

From these readings, I learn how the historical events have been built and
transforming what we are today. Analyze each important event after the cold
war; help me to develop a critical thinking and also to identify the main ideas
from each text. To find more detailed information about the topic of the
reading, I took long time, which helped me develop skills to know how to find
articles and academic documents that truly contribute to my work.

As an international business student, I think that the Russian economic crisis

and the collapse of burocracy, today it is no a problem, due to the fact that it
has been transformed into a market place where private companies produced
goods and services to satisfy consumers, which today increase the economy
and benefits the international trade. It helps me to understand how the
communist regimes can close their economies and in this way the employment
opportunities.
