1. Background/ Introduction:

We have traditionally followed an ODC model where most of our employees work out of Wipro facilities;
however some accounts may require employees to report to a local client office for a sufficiently long
period of time. Due to such work arrangement, these employees have limited or no access to amenities
provided at Wipro locations. This policy is designed to support such employees.

2. Definition

A local client office is a client location in India and which is not a Wipro premise.

This policy is effective 1st August 07.

4. Eligibility

The policy is applicable in the following situations:

4.1 An employee required to work at a client office for a minimum period of one
month, subject to:

The clients office being in the same city as the employees location of posting.
Such work requirement being explicitly approved by the client.
The project is approved by the SBU HR Head, BFM, Vertical/Practice Head for giving the
local onsite allowance.
In the event employee is on temporary relocation and is claiming allowances as per the Temporary
Relocation Policy, the Local Onsite Policy will not apply even if employee is working from client location.

Definition of one month in context of this policy is as below:

To be eligible for the full local onsite amount in a particular month, the employee should have worked for
20 days or more from the client location. If the number of days worked from client location is lesser than
20 days, the local onsite allowance will be prorated accordingly. The days on local onsite working must be
continuous and not in piecemeal pattern.

Formula for computation of the local onsite amount is the following:

Number of days worked*6000/90. The details shared by the managers should be inclusive of weekend and
exclude personal leaves.

4.2 This policy would be applicable uniformly for all the employees working in the
respective account irrespective of the horizontal or vertical they belong to.

5. Policy

An allowance of Rs 6000 per quarter paid towards local onsite working.


Manager must provide inputs for the previous quarter in the following month eg. Advice for
Q1 (April June) must be sent in July to the Wividus team for making the payout. Inputs
provided on monthly basis will not be processed as the inputs for complete quarter should be
provided at a time.
The payment will be done quarterly. This will be paid through payroll and will be taxable
Employee is not required to provide bills to claim this amount
Employee will not be eligible for reimbursements under Early/Late policy or any additional
reimbursements towards food or transport if covered in the local onsite policy.
For employees working on weekends/ Night Shift/ Late Evening Shift, he/she will be eligible
for additional allowance as per the current policies.

6. Process

Approval for the project to be forwarded to C & B team who in turn advise Wividus to add the
project for covering under local onsite allowance.
Project Manager for the account needs to send the list of employees eligible for local onsite
allowance to Wividus by 10th of the month following every quarter. Project Manager must
mark the BU HR Manager and BFM in the mail on payout advice sent to Wividus. Wividus will
arrange for the payment to be done in that months payroll cycle.
In case employee takes leave during local onsite the amount payable will be calculated on a
prorata basis.

7. Validity

The management reserves the right to make any changes to these guidelines at any time.
In the event of an exceptional circumstance in a business situation, or when in doubt on
the interpretation, the decision of the Head of HR would be final and binding.
