2 Common Operation in the Dialogs

2.1 Dialog Structure
The dialogs for evaluating the data consist of two areas. Several filter criteria can
be set on the left-hand side. Here, click the "Display" menu button to display the
required data on the right-hand side.

Figure 6 Dialog structure (example)

The data will be loaded with the set filter criteria and displayed on the right-hand side in
the dialog.

Note: Table views of result data of acquisition classes can be copied into buffer.

2.2 Specification of the Selection According to the Time

Range
The two "Current data" and "Time range" radio-buttons specify the time interval
within which the search for the data is made.

R53
14
Common Operation in the Dialogs

Figure 7 Selection using "Current data"

For the "Current data" radio-button, the end of the time range is always the current
date and the current time. The start is not specified for "No restriction" and the most
recent data is always fetched. For the selection of a time interval such as "the last
24 hours", the start is determined by subtracting 24 hours from the current
timestamp.

Figure 8 Selection using "Time range"

For the "Time range" radio-button, the start and the end of the time range can be
set directly. Only the data that lies within this time range is displayed.

Note: The set time range is also evaluated for the "Display other selection criteria"
radio-button. Only those orders and shifts that lie within the above-selected time
range are offered as other selection criteria.

R53
15
Common Operation in the Dialogs

For the data displayed on the right-hand side, the start and end time are displayed in the
title line. Click this button to accept this time range in the "From" and "To" text fields.

2.3 Specification of the Selection for Order/Batch or Shift

The system can record data related to an order, batch or shift. You can use the
following query dialog that is available on every "Selection" page to specify the
corresponding recordings (exception: searching maintenance tasks, refer to
Maintenance Tasks Selection Dialog Page).

Figure 9 Query dialog for selection of order/batch or shift

The analysis is then performed for the selected search area using one of the
following criteria:
Order/batch Batch iT Only data for the selected order or batch are provided for selection
/ Liqu iT (refer to "Restriction by order/batch"). This tab page shows only Batch iT or Liqu iT
orders from the order list.
Order/batch Plant iT Only data for the selected order or batch are provided for selection
(refer to "Restriction by order/batch"). This tab page shows only Plant iT orders from the
order areas.
Shift Only data for the selected shift are provided for selection
(refer to "Restriction by shift".
Note: The lower area of the field contains additional dialog-specific search criteria that
are explained in conjunction with the dialog. Only the start date can be entered
for measured values (refer to Introduction to the Measured Values Dialog).

2.3.1 Restriction by order/batch

If you select the Order / Batch option for a search, the system provides you with the
capability to use only that data that belong to a specific order or batch for the
search.

Only those orders that lie in the time interval set with the "Time range" radio-button
are offered.

If you wish to fetch the data for a single batch, you must select the required batch in
the "Batch" selection box.

The orders will be reloaded for the above-selected time range.

2.3.2 Restriction by shift

If you select the Shift option for a search, the system provides you with the
capability to use only that data that belong to a specific shift for the search.

Only those shifts that lie in the time interval selected with the "Time range" radio-
button are offered.

Figure 10 Query dialog for selection of shift

Once you have selected a date, the system checks which shifts ran on this date. All
shift numbers that ran on this date are provided in the "Shift number" selection box.

You must now select the shift in this selection box that is of interest. The time
displayed in the "Duration" field below the "Shift number" selection box applies to
the selected shift.

The shifts will be reloaded for the above-selected time range.

2.4 Selection of the Maximum Number of Data Records

The maximum number of data records to be displayed can be entered in the text
field. The default setting is 100 and can be changed from the Options Settings
menu. The number of data records actually returned will be displayed in the title line
on the right-hand dialog side.

2.5 Select the Search Area in the Tree

A lot of data is recorded in a plant. To obtain a better overview, each "Selection"
page provides the hierarchical image of the plant in the form of a tree. Select the
search area in this tree to obtain the dialog-specific data.

If a plus character is prefixed to a tree entry, lower-order objects can exist that are
displayed when you click this entry. If the entry has a minus character, the lower-
level objects are removed from the display after being clicked.

Figure 11 Hierarchical image of a plant in the form of a tree (example)

You can select the search area in the tree by selecting the corresponding entry with
the mouse. Because the tree is built hierarchically, the selection automatically
includes all lower-level objects.

This has the following significance for the selection:

Select database symbol
(this would be "PC2_SV_IDS_201" in the previous picture): *)

You receive a report of all dialog-specific data that exist in the system.
For example, if you want to obtain the data for all counters that are stored in the system,
select the "Counters" dialog and then click on the database symbol.

Select server symbol

(this would be "Andorra_E" in the previous picture): *)
You receive a report of all dialog-specific data for this configuration.

For example, if you want to obtain the data for all counters that are stored for a
configuration, select the "Counters" dialog and then click on the server symbol.

(this would be "Packing", "PL4", etc. in the previous picture): *)
You receive a report of all dialog-specific data for this plant section.

For example, if you want to obtain the data for all counters that are stored for a local key,
select the "Counters" dialog and then click on the associated local key symbol.

Select object symbol (in the prev. picture, this would be, e.g. "PackingMachine" for
counter objects):
You receive a report of all dialog-specific data for this object.

For example, if you want to obtain the data for a specific counter, select the "Counters"
dialog and then click on the associated counter symbol.

Note: Only those objects relevant for the selected dialog are displayed. Because
every object can create messages, all object symbols are available for the
search for messages (refer to "Messages Selection Dialog Page").
Exception: Manual Input Objects

*) The measured value objects or stored views are directly selected for the search
for measured values (refer to "Selection" Dialog Page).

2.6 Define Column Sequence / Change Column Width

As soon as you see a list on the screen (normally on the "Results" tab of a dialog),
you can normally permanently change the sequence and width of the displayed
columns:

Define column width:

Place the mouse in the title line of the list, namely in the area between two columns.
The shape of the cursor changes. Keep the left mouse button pressed and move
the column division left or right to decrease or increase the column width. Release
the mouse button once the column has the required width.

Define column sequence:

Click with the right mouse button somewhere in the list. The following dialog
appears:

Searching Measured Values

3 Searching Measured Values

3.1 Introduction to the Measured Values Dialog
You can use Work to graphically display as curves or binary tracks the measured
value views created in the Configuration Client. You can also create new measured
value views.

You can also select the recording of different measuring points and show them
together in a view.

Definition of terms
Measuring point, measured value object
A measuring point is a physical measuring sensor in the plant that is used to record,
for example, temperatures, pressures, consumptions, etc. If this measuring point is
a measuring sensor that records analog data, an evaluation displays the measured
values as a curve. If this is a binary measuring sensor, the evaluation is displayed
as a binary track.
The associated objects of the "Measured Value" class are parameterized in the
Configuration Client. Specific parameters (measurement unit, sampling interval,
etc.) are also defined there.
Recording
A recording is defined as being a recorded set of measured values for a single
measured value object. This normally contains a reference to the measured value
object that recorded the measured values and the (network) path of the file with the
associated measured values.
View (measured value view)
A view is defined as being the composition of the curves of a maximum of 16
measuring points that are displayed together.
The settings for the display are also stored in the view (e.g. scale, line type and
color of the grid and curve, etc.)

3.2 "Selection" Dialog Page

3.2.1 "View" page

For measured values, only the views and the measuring points stored in the
Configuration Client are relevant for the selection.

When you click the "view definition" icon in the tree, the names of all
previously saved views and created view groups will be displayed. You open the
view groups in the same way as the "view definition". The associated views are
then displayed.

If you always wish to display several measuring points together in a view, you can
create this view once, edit the output parameters for this view and possibly add a
more comprehensive comment, and store all this information together.
All previously saved views are displayed in the tree under the ("View
Definitions") symbol. Double-click on the symbol to display the list.

Figure 14 Display of the stored views

After clicking the icon for views, the "Display" toolbar button can be used to
load the view. The data is displayed on the Graphic, Characteristic Data and
Tabular tabs on the right-hand side.

It is possible to create a view that can only be deleted or changed using

parameterization tools (Configuration Client or Excel). This view can then be used
as a template for other views.

The dialog can be opened from the "Measured value view New" toolbar button.

On this page, you can combine recordings (also for different measuring points) to
form a new view

Measuring points are indicated with the icon and with the technological name of
the measured value object. When you click this icon, the most recent 100
recordings available for this measuring point will be displayed.
Recordings have as icon; they are identified by the date and time of the
recording start and end. Only the recording start is shown for recordings that are
still running.

You can combine an (initially) temporary view from the available recordings in the
"Curves in view" window.

Figure 21 Margin setting for printing the curve

The margin settings for the curve area are interpreted as follows:
The margins specify the distance of the print area of the analog curves from the
edge margin. The height of the header and trailer lines is also added to the
upper and lower margin.

The margins do not apply to the complete page but only to the (printer-
dependent) printable area.

The margins do not affect the position of header/footer line, legend text, scale
labeling and binary tracks.

In addition to the upper margin (landscape format) or the left-hand margin

(portrait format), allowance is also made for the parameterized binding margin.

Thus, the following equation specifies the actual upper margin:

<nonprintable area> + <header height> + [<margin> if landscape format]

The following equation specifies the actual lower margin:

<nonprintable area> + <footer height>

Operations on the dialog page:

The data will be refreshed when you click this button. This is important for running
recordings. After clicking, the distinction numbers will be recalculated and the tabular

3.5.3 "Tabular" page

This page contains the same measured values as in the graphical display (see
"Graphic) here, however, in tabular display. The scrollbar at the right-hand side can
be used to scroll along the time axis.

Every measuring point that was recorded analog will be displayed in its own
column. For binary recorded measuring points, a column is used for each bit.

Because measuring points with different sampling intervals can belong to a view,
the largest common denominator (LCD) of the sampling intervals is used as time
grid. This can mean that a value does not necessarily exist for a measuring point for
each displayed time (slower sampling interval). Consequently, the previously valid
value is output in this case. This corresponds to the representation as staircase
curve in the graphical view.

A dash (-) represents any gaps in the sampling.

Because, in some circumstances, very large amounts of data is printed (refer to

Menu and Buttons), the number of pages to be printed is estimated and displayed
to the operator. He has the possibility to choose whether the print job should be
started or cancelled.

to a view in the measured value file. Exception: constants are displayed continuously,

7.5 Standard Operator Dialog for Manual Input Classes

This operator dialog is used to enter and change the property values for a specific
data record. It also contains all information associated with the manual input object
and the data record itself.

Important: The operator dialog to be used is specified in the Configuration Client during the
configuring of a manual input class. The operator dialog then applies to all
manual input objects of this class.

It is possible that class-specific operator dialogs have been set for one or more
manual input classes. In this case, the following description either does not
apply or applies only partially.

Thus, if you see changed or completely different dialogs after calling the
operator dialog, you may require a description of the class-specific dialog. In
this case, consult the engineer who created the dialog.

Call the operator dialog

Two possibilities are provided to call the operator dialog for manual input classes
used to search for manual input data records:

Table columns:
Property Various properties may have been parameterized for a manual input class. The table
displays a data record for each property.
Value Value of the property. The data type can be numeric, alphanumeric, a character string, a
Boolean value or an Enum value. Each property has exactly one data type that can be
set in the Plant iT Configuration Client. The cell with the value is normally empty in the
case of a new data record, unless a default value has been parameterized for the
property. In this case, the default value is displayed instead of an empty cell. If the value
exceeds the upper or lower bound, it will be displayed in red.
Unit This specifies the unit for the value of the property.
Lower bound/ The upper and lower bound for a numeric property parameterized in the Plant iT
Upper bound Configuration Client. If no bounds have been parameterized, the associated cells remain
empty. If a value entered in the column value exceeds these bounds, it will be displayed
in red.
Note You can store a note in the Note column to be used for each change of the value of a
property. This note will be displayed in the Note field of the "Input Report" page when the
property is selected.
