Brief instructionsThis tool is great for students in high school who are frequently working in groups. This

more. The students can connect with other students in their class or on their sports teams to

the desired group(s). The students can make this account through Facebook instead of
Wiggio if desired. After making this account, the students can join a group or start a group
of their own. After doing this, the students can upload files and send emails as needed.

High School English class: The students are able to communicate about papers and

Middle School Math class: The students can communicate with one another about math
problems that they are struggling with. In this way, students that are at home are still able to
get help from fellow students.

another and have an online location for finding information about team events and
practices. Team members can contact one another easily through Wiggio.

Another positive is that students will easily be able to find information about classes and
events. Sometimes, students may miss a class or a practice, and Wiggio will help them to
know when the next meetings are and what the expectations are.
Another way that this tool is helpful to students is that it will help them to learn how to
interact with others online versus just in person. They will learn the importance of helping
one another.
This is a great tool for students in PK-12 because this tool can help them learn how to
collaborate online with other students at a young age or at any age.
A final positive is that this tool helps students to see the importance of online tools and
what kinds of resources are out there for them to use.
Negatives:
A challenge is that students may become dependent on using this tool, so they may have a
hard time communicating with members of their group in person.
Students may take advantage of other students who are staying more on top of things, and
these students may be asked a lot of questions.
Students may have a difficult time understanding the web tool, and they may spend more
time on this than on communicating in person with their fellow team-mates or classmates.

Brief instructions This tool makes it possible to connect with other students all over the country and all over
of how to use the the world. The site is secure and a project based way of learning. The teacher would sign up

teacher and class by searching for things such as language, country, age group, and subject.
Once the teacher has found another teacher to connect with they send them a connection
invite. The students can work in project spaces collaborating with discussion boards and
other messaging tools. There is a pen pal exchange where students can write to other
students all over the world. The teachers have full access to what the students are
discussing.
Ideas for how the High School English Class: Students can connect with another class in a different state or

in PK-12 evaluation, discussing topics such as the strengths and weaknesses of the book, was it

working on due to the location or language barrier.
Some students might feel uneasy working with students from other cultures.
Finding a class or student working on a similar project might be difficult.

Brief instructions of To access Wikispace, you need an account. Accounts are free for educators, and school
how to use the tool systems can buy the account for $4000 for unlimited use. Once logged in, a page will
appear that allows the user to name the Wikispace and fill out personal information such as
the school they are using it for and the country they are located in. The teacher will assign a
project, including the dates that the project link will be active for. The teacher can add
individual names of people participating in the project (the students). The students will then
be able to access their Wikispace to create their webpage.

High School English Class: Students can create a Wikispace on different books that they

for the final. The students will then hold a review class to go over these topics to better
prepare for the final exam.

High School Basketball Team: Teammates could make a Wikispace to discuss various
plays that they have seen, the benefits of each play, when the plays would be useful, and
how to implement each play. The coach could then review the Wikispace to have a better
idea on different plays they can coach.

One of the biggest negatives of Wikispace is that it could be hard to incorporate images and
videos if the student has never used a program like this before.
Another negative is that valuable class time would have to be spent teaching students how
to use this program.
Students would need login information to access Wikispace. This is a negative because the
students will need to know the login information that is provided by their teacher.
A final negative is that it is up to the school system or the individual school to pay for this
program - the teacher does not have to pay if the school pays. The program is cheap, but
still an added cost to the low budget of schools.
