Course Objective:

To understand the kinetics of microbial growth, substrate utilization, product formation, methods of sterilization, scale up and modes
of operation of bioreactor for commercial scale production.
Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of chemical Engineering
Student Learning Outcomes:
Apply unit operations of Biochemical Engineering for commercial purposes.
Recognize the mass- transfer and scale up problems in Bioreactor.
Selection of Bioreactor and its mode of operation for specific applications.
