When we read the Bible and study closely during the time of ministry of Jesus on

the earth, he was focussed on preaching the kingdom of God. He spoke

about how the Kingdom of God is like and how it operates. On the other
hand, he also spoke about Kingdom mentality and how each one of us
need to embrace that mentality. We also find that Jesus priority was
Kingdom which we understand from Matthew 6:33. If Jesus was so serious
about it, we as sons and daughters of God, we should follow his instructions.
Am I right in Saying that? But my question to all of us is When Jesus Said Seek
the Kingdom of God first and its righteousness, how are we seeking the
kingdom. How can one Seek the Kingdom of God? To understand on how to
seek the kingdom, we should understand what Jesus meant by Saying this Word.
If we look at the Word Seek it means to search, to find, to enquire, to
investigate, to pursue, to strive after etc. What did God want you to
search for, what did God want you to find or What did God want us to investigate
in Kingdom and why did he want us to do that. With that in mind let us today
launch a small study about Kingdom of God and kingdom mentality of its
citizens. But for us to get that mentality, we need to understand the concept of
Kingdom. There are two different kingdoms. One is the Kingdom of God and the
other is Kingdoms of World.
Normally when we look at a Kingdom, it is a country with King as its head,

The only message Jesus was focussed on preaching is the Kingdom of God. In
fact the Kingdom message started with God during his creation in the book of
Genesis 1:26 where he said Let us make mankind in our image, after our
likeliness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
In Matthew 9:35 it says, Jesus went through all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the
kingdom of God and healing every disease and sickness.
Matthew 10:7 Jesus instructs the disciples saying Go Preach saying
The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand
Mark 16:15 Go ye into the World, and preach the Gospel of Kingdom of
God to every creature.
Luke 9:60 Go Proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God
Luke 9:2 He sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to
perform healing.

Question : Why was Jesus focussed on preaching the Gospel of Kingdom

of God. But before we try to understand it, let us be clear that God
knows the end from the beginning.
Right immediately after the submission of Adam and Eve to authority of
evil, The world was under the rulership of different kings and the world
was facing oppression, poverty, sickness, hatred and all other things
that are concerning Evil. Everyone irrespective of religion and belief are
looking for a way out to come into freedom from all these things of
World which is the evil. The very reason why Muslim blows himself up
is because he thinks he directly opens his eyes in the presence of God
in his kingdom and he feels he is a holy warrior. Every religion fights to
prove their point saying their religion is correct path to be followed to
reach Heaven, which is kingdom of God according to them. The
understanding of Kingdom of God got contaminated over a period time
and God knowing the end from the beginning, the only solution to these
problems is found in making people know what exactly is the kingdom
of God. But Jesus knowing the hearts of people and the only solution
for their freedom is found in the kingdom of God.
Matthew 6:33 But Seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.
Luke 17:21 - The Kingdom of God is already in you.
At one place, he said seek and another place he said it is inside you. Well both
statements contradict. How can you seek something which is inside of you? Am
I right?
Inside you It is already inside us.
Question What was Jesus trying to say?
We many times hear the statement, seek the kingdom of God. What does
seeking the Kingdom of God mean. What is Kingdom made of. How does the
kingdom of God operate. How
Let us first study the statement of Matthew 6:33. Let us rephrase the Statement
Seek means Search, inquire, Aim, Look, Try
But Search first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be
given to you as well.
But Inquire first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be
given to you as well.
But Look first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be
given to you as well.
But Try first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given
to you as well.
Question: Why do you Search, why do you Inquire, why do you Look, why do you
try?
- Any person does these things to understand what is in it, what does it
have to offer or what is in it. Am I right? Example: A person wants to
travel on a package
- So, in another way God is telling Search, inquire, look and try the kingdom
of God first.
- Why does Jesus wants us to do that? Simply because when you seek, you
will know how kingdom of God functions and now that you know it you will
use dominion/power that God has given you to over the world.
- To understand that, we need to study what is the Kingdom and what is in
it?
- The Kingdom does not represent a religion.
- The Kingdom is country lead by a king, occupied by citizens, guarded by
soldiers and does not have democracy because it runs on laws set by a
king.
- There is no democracy to say I want to live that way or this way. It is
dictatorship and you will live only this way according to the laws setup by
the king.
- Now let us look at few laws that the kingdom of God

Matthew 4:23 - And he went around through all of Galilee, teaching in

their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and
healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
To enter the Kingdom of God
Mt 5:20 For I say to you that unless your righteousness greatly
surpasses [that] of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter into
the kingdom of heaven.

FIVE PRINCIPLES IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

1.PRINCIPLE OF PROMISE
Psalm 127:1 Genesis 11:1-9
The principle of promise is the fundamental principle in the Kingdom of God. We should
not attempt anything in our own strength without receiving a promise from the Lord.
We read how the attempt to build the tower of Babel failed because the Lord was
against it.

2.PRINCIPLE OF PATIENCE
Hebrews 6:12 Psalm 105:19
The second principle is the principle of patience. After receiving a promise we should
not give up at the first hint of trouble. In the New testament we read how Mary and
Joseph went to Bethlehem according to the will of God. But there was no place for them
at the inn. Finally they had to stay in a manger. Being in the center of Gods will does not
mean that life will be a bed of roses. In the Old Testament Joseph had a dream in which
he was exalted above his brothers. But before it could be fulfilled he had to go through
severe trials he was thrown into a pit , sold as a slave , thrown into prison on false
accusations. It looked as though he was humiliated more than all his brothers. But the
day came when God fulfilled that dream.

3.PRINCIPLE OF PRAISE
Psalm 22:3 Joshua 6:20 Acts 16:25-26 Numbers 32:13
The third principle is the principle of praise. God inhabits the praises of His people. The
principle of praise is a powerful principle in the Kingdom of God. The walls of Jericho fell
when the people praised God . The earth shook and prison doors opened when Paul
and Silas praised God. Where there is no praise there is bound to be grumbling and
murmuring whch destroyed the people of Israel and prevented them from entering the
promised land. We should beware of this spirit of grumbling and murmuring for it will
destroy our lives.

4.PRINCIPLE OF PROVISION
Matthew 6:33 Luke 5:1-11 II Corinthians 9:7 Luke 6:38
The fourth principle is the principle of provision. When we put God first in our lives He is
faithful to meet all our needs. We read about Peter and his boat. All night long he fished
and caught nothing . In the midst of his disappointment Jesus came and asked Peter to
let him use his boat. In spite of his misery Peter gladly allowed Jesus to use his boat.
After using the boat Jesus told Peter to cast the net on the right side. Immediately they
caught so much fish that there was not enough room in the boat. When we willingly
allow God to use whatever we have for His kingdom, He will bless us until we have not
enough room to hold the blessing. The principle of provision is giving before we receive.

5. PRINCIPLE OF PROMOTION
Luke 14:11 Matthew 18:1-4
The fifth principle is the principle of promotion. In the Kingdom of God promotion
comes by humility. The disciples of Jesus wanted to know who was the greatest in the
Kingdom of God. Jesus set a little child in front of them. He did not call the wealthiest ,
or the wisest , or the most experienced present person as an example. Jesus taught
clearly that whoever humbles himself like a little child shall be greatest in the Kingdom
of God.
