Lesson Objective The students are writing their final piece for the All American Boys unit
that will be published in the Wyoming book. The goal for todays lesson
is to peer-review the rough drafts and start finalizing the pieces.

Input Students will be led during the bellringer discussion and be explained
how to peer-review but most of the class time will be work time.

Check While students are working, the teacher will go around and check that
Understanding the students are on task and know what is expected of them.

Guided Practice The students will use the Narrative Final Checklist to peer-review
classmates essays. This will be guided practice because the students
will be helping each other to reach all the standards mentioned above.

Some student will also be working collaboratively with others to co-write

final pieces. This was an option for all the students but not all of them
chose to do this.

Independent After the pieces are peer-reviewed the students will be working on their
Practice own to make their final draft of their essay independently.

Accommodations There are many ELL students in our classes and students with learning
disabilities. Some of the classes are co-taught with a special education
teacher. In order to accommodate this assignment they have lower
expectations, based on their need, and accommodated essays with the
help of the special education teacher.
