ABSTRACT

The purpose of this experiment is to determine the current, voltage and plot the graph. This
experiment was to measure the current and voltage in the circuit by prepare connected circuit as
shown in the Figure 3.1. Note the current and voltage reading.

The resistance value is calculated using the Ohms law. The result was observed and plot the
graph by using the data. This experiment enhance the skill of plotting graph.

INTRODUCTION

Ohms law is used in electrical engineering to calculate the relationships between current,
voltage and resistance. Ohms law is apply in our daily life that we use. For example, light bulbs,
kettle and others.

Ohms law was discovered by a scientist named Georg Simon Ohm. Ohms law states that at a
constant temperature, current I through a conductor a between two points directly proportional
to the potential difference or voltage V, across the two points. That is

V
V=IR or I= R

Where I is the current through the resistance in units of amperes, V is the potential difference
measured across the resistance in units of volts, and R is the resistance of the conductor in units
of ohms. More specifically, Ohm's law states that the R in this relation is constant, independent
of the current. (Wasfy, 2010)

The aim of this experiment is to identify and verify the ohm law by preparing the circuit like
what have shown in laboratory sheet to obtain the satisfaction of result.
OBJECTIVE

1. To measure the current and voltage in the circuit.

2. To plot the graph.
PROCEDURE

1. The circuit was connected as shown in Figure 3.1 on the breadboard.

2.

3. The DC Power supply voltage was adjusted to 5V. The voltage across the resistor and
current flowing through the resistor were observed. The voltage and current reading in
the tabular column 2 were noted.
4. Step 2 was repeated for different DC Power supply voltages in steps. The observed
readings in the tabular column 1 was noted.
5. The constant V/I in the tabular column was calculated.
6. The graph was plotted by using the data in the tabular column by taking voltage (V)
across the resistor in the X-axis and the gradient was found.
7. Observation from this experiment were discussed.

CONCLUSION

The purpose of this experiment is to verify the Ohms law.

In this experiment the objective is to measure the voltage and current in the circuit. Digital
multimeter is used to measure the voltage and current value. Digital multimeter is a test tool used
to measure two or more electrical values such as voltage (volts) and current (amperes). On the
other hand, the resistance value is calculated by using Ohms law.

The second objective of this experiment is to plot the graph. The title of the graph is voltage
versus current. Conclusion for this experiment is objective in the laboratory report is achieved.
