b. Explain why some parts of the Earths surface receives more solar radiation than other parts.

2. Why does the wind at the beach blow in the opposite direction at night than it does during the day? Explain your
answer by including information about the amount of land/water and how convection currents work. You must explain
what happens during the day and night.

3. Why do low pressure systems typically cause severe weather, such as thunderstorms, tornados, and hurricanes?

1. Describe how a tornado forms by listing the ingredients in the atmosphere needed as well as how a tornado
touches the ground.

2. Describe how a hurricane forms by listing the ingredients in the atmosphere needed as well as how a hurricane
moves and how they die off.

-Explain the scale used for measuring Hurricanes and name one hurricane for each category and the year it occurred.

-Explain and describe 2 historical tornadoes that inflicted major damage including the name, date, where it occurred,
how many cities/states it affected, Fujita scale measurement, damage (death toll, damage cost).

Compare and Contrast El Nino and La Nina, including the climate change that occurs around the world and how it affects
the area. What type of weather change can you expect? You need pictures of the map of where this occurs.
