REPUBLICACTNO.530ANACTMAKINGADDITIONALPROVISIONSFORNATURALIZATION

Section1.Theprovisionsofexistinglawsnotwithstanding,nopetitionforPhilippinecitizenshipshallbeheardbythecourtsuntilaftersixmonthsfromthe
publicationoftheapplicationrequiredbylaw,norshallanydecisiongrantingtheapplicationbecomeexecutoryuntilaftertwoyearsfromitspromulgationand
afterthecourt,onproperhearing,withtheattendanceoftheSolicitorGeneralorhisrepresentative,issatisfied,andsofinds,thatduringtheinterveningtimethe
applicanthas(1)notleftthePhilippines,(2)hasdedicatedhimselfcontinuouslytoalawfulcallingorprofession,(3)hasnotbeenconvictedofanyoffenseor
violationofGovernmentpromulgatedrules,(4)orcommittedanyactprejudicialtotheinterestofthenationorcontrarytoanyGovernmentannouncedpolicies.

Sec.2.Afterthefindingmentionedinsectionone,theorderofthecourtgrantingcitizenshipshallberegisteredandtheoathprovidedbyexistinglawsshallbe
takenbytheapplicant,whereupon,andnotbefore,hewillbeentitledtoalltheprivilegesofaFilipinocitizen.

Sec.3.SuchpartsofActNumberedFourhundredseventythreeasareinconsistentwiththeprovisionsofthepresentActareherebyrepealed.

Sec.4.ThisActshalltakeeffectuponitsapproval,andshallapplytocasespendingincourtandtothosewheretheapplicanthasnotyettakentheoathof
citizenship:Provided,however,Thatinpendingcaseswheretherequisiteofpublicationundertheoldlawandalreadybeencompliedwith,thepublicationherein
requiredshallnotapply.
