My name is Alexander Ferrante. I am the Assistant Principal at Blackwood Elementary School. I am

writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Brittany Kummer. Brittany services our school in a
Long-Term teaching position of the third grade. I have had multiple opportunities to observe Brittany
teaching both ELA and Math classes. Brittany has made a great impact on the students in her class this
year, and as an administrator, I am very satisfied with her performance.

Brittany is a young, high energy, and hardworking professional. Blackwood Elementary School is a Title
1 school and services a very diverse population of students. Brittany has been able to assimilate to the
Blackwood culture and expresses great interest in the lives of our students. Brittany maintains
communication with the parents of her students through weekly emails, letters and phone calls home.

As a member of the third grade team, Brittany collaborates regularly with her peers within the department
during Professional Learning Community meetings. During these meetings teachers are expected to
discuss curriculum, analyze student progress, disaggregate student data, create instructional plans, and
engage in professional development. Brittany has implemented Whole Brain teaching strategies with
great success in her classroom, a strategy learned during in house professional development
opportunity.

Brittany has proven herself to be proficient in her use of technology, satisfying the demands and high
expectations of Blackwood Elementary School. Brittany has implemented the curriculum through the
effective use of Chromebooks and the Google platform. Brittany has submitted materials, created and
submitted forms/docs using the google platform to administration.

In order to meet the needs of our students, Brittany has created and implemented lessons that appeal
the multiple learning styles of her students. Brittany came to Blackwood Elementary School as a strong
candidate with great knowledge of teaching. Brittany will leave Blackwood Elementary having grown with
tremendous experience working as a teaching professional who has successfully been tested. It is my
only regret that we currently do not have a position available.
