01In the name of Allah the most beneficent and most merciful.

02Thank you very much

08Thank you so much for your valuable time
011Sir we would ask you some questions related to change in your organization.
15And how implement change and how you face change.
17So lets started
21Sir how did you start your career after graduation. First Question.
25You want me to answer the change first or my career first.
26Your career First.
28Okay thankyou very much for your time and everything.
29My Name is Nadeem Ahmed and I have been working in this organization for the
last ten years as the Chief Executive office
38I started my career way back in 1990
42I completed my master in Management Engineering and luckily I got a job in
47Pepsicola that was my
48first assignment that ii worked for and the first project that I have been given for
the development of Pepsi Junior and I remember at that time in 1990 we work for an
ad which is called
102 Pepsi Pepsi Pakistan, Dil Dil Pakistan which was basically very famous national
song sung by Junoon 113Vital Signs group at that time and that ad was super hit at
that time and Pepsi Cola was also today still very
123For about 2 years I worked for Pepsicola and moved to Pharmaceutical Industry
130And from the last 24, 25 years working in Pharmaceutical Industry.
133Sir! Why Pharma Industry?
136That is also an accident infact while
I was working in Consumer Company I went to a seminar
143 Where I was delievering a small lecture about marketing and sales activity
150 And one of the leading Chief Executive of very leading company in the country
was also there
152 So, he pickup me and want to work for Pharmaceutical Industry and practically
you know they offered
159 Me a very good salary which I cant refuse. So
204 Accidently I had been moving to a Pharmaceutical Industry and believe me
when I step in
To the pharmaceutical industry,
210 I just dont know about anything about Pharmaceutical Industry
214-236 I didnt know the difference of Paracetemol and what are their spec and
why there is molecules are different from each other and its horrible to leading a
Marketing position without knowing single thing about Pharmaceutical Industry but
anyways you learned, thats a challenge to you and we start learning it and the
more you learn, the more you deliver.
240 The thing that I learn after all this experience from one industry to another
industry that a human being can do anything,
248 you know if you see people living in Saudi Arabia to 50 degree Centigrade, you
go to Canada people are living in -50 Degree centigrade, the difference of about 100
degree Centigrade,
258 still human beings are living together and surviving and you know their
discharging their duties and working hard.
309 I have seen people travelling from Saudi Arabia to Canada, use to go a
program, use to work for a Canadian Petroleum Company and
319 experience 100 degree centigrade temperature to control to their own body to
run business,
324 so you can do anything.
330 Okay Sir! Second Question I what are one or two things about your personality
that you think are important to be successful?
335 Yeah I always go to any business school,
338 almost this kind of question will raise that how you
345 what factors do you think most important to be successful.
350 There is no prescribe formula for success,
355 I would say it is hardworking, it is efficiency, it is your luck, it is your talent,
400 it is your education, background, family, it is money, I think this all together of
everything.
405 But one thing which is probably count, so far I have read very successful
leaders of the World
418 Because I love to study of their success path and the one thing that I find
common among all successful leaders.
430 They all are very hardworking in the right direction.
433 So the one things I learned over the years that whatever you want to achieve in
life,
438 the critical things is that how committed you are, how hardworking you are
443 And definitely rest will all follow you, your persistency, your efficiency,
447 your knowledge, your coordination that will come all together, that if it is not
their hardworking individual then
458 forget about everything.
502 If consistency is not their then forget about everything, so I would rate
hardworking and consistency 507 the most desirable element for the success of any
individual,
512 Sir what I console that luck also matters a lot.
516 Luck is always matter but it doesnt start countdown then you put hardwork
into it.
522-536 When I fly you know I dont know whether I am going to reach my
destination or not but I follow each and every step that these crew instructed to me,
fasten my seat belt and everything.
537 I keep all my security majors, it does not mean that I do not believe in Allah,
540 I do not believe in God
544 With the God believe and God Said I give you everything but I will not give you
anything if you will not demand and work hard for it, so I will not give you anything.
553 If you look at it why the Americans are successful, the Japanese are successful,
they are not Muslim
557 It is success and failure, its not because of religion, it is because of your
commitment and hardwork
600 If the Japanese are hardworker the God is so kind to them
615 They are the No 1, nation, like the britishers are working hard, the Europeans
are working hard, the Americans are working hard, the Chinese are working hard
today
622 So they have screaming all the fortunaty to them
627 Chinese dont believe in God
630 But they are working hard
631 The second big economy of the World
634 Why Pakistan has not become.
638 Why any Muslim Country become second big economy of the World
640 It is not that God lights only to Muslims
643 God lights everyone
645 He is the creator of the World, not the Muslim alone.
649 So, Yes he will punish you, when you doing something wrong
652 But he will give you the reward when you doing something good.

700 Sir being a CEO, how will you manage the responsibility of a Company?
701 Being a CEO, it is difficult to move
707 Sometimes you know when I was not a CEO
710 I was dream of it, one day I become a CEO, but believe me when u become a
CEO
714 I realizes its a very tough call not an easy call
718 And you have to do so many things
722 Number 1, you have to be very competitive
724 Number 2, you have to meet so many people
726 Masha Allah. Searle today is the fifth largest company by revenue
731 And the largest the number 1 company by market cap
738 We are bigger than GSK & Abbott, Right?
742 Is it true???
747 Yes it is, when it comes to the market cap we call it market capitalization
750 The value of Searle is bigger than GSK and Abbott,
755 So when you are running such a big organization it works what interest they
have
It is always very challenging to meet all the requirement
802 So you have to make satisfy all your team mates, you have to keep satisfy
colleagues around
811 And top of it you have to satisfy your patients,
814 There are millions of patients in Pakistan, thousands of our customers who are
very highly educated, our doctors
820 So keep them happy Altogether is hell of a job which one has to perform
830 So I have to perform and I have to smile also little bit.
837 I have to smile also.
841 What is the downside of becoming a CEO?
845 Downside is that your family suffers, you go and ask my wife and daughter, the
greatest suffer on this planet you know
853 Because sometime, not sometime
854 but every time I have to travel around 2 to 3 weeks time, I have to sitting in
the office late, 900sometime because of the lot of work, to catch up my work
905 So I think the greatest support that I have from my family
910 They really supported me a lot and understand that is really important to
perform my duties, I have to be very peaceful from the home.
922 So she really made my house very peaceful, she take care of my parents, she
take care of my daughter
928 So I am very relax from my house
932 So once you relaxed from your family and your home so you can do much
better your job so I hope
938 So in my success in my position where I am today,
941 Very great contribution, very intangible and which you cant see that kind of
contribution is their, that only I can see.
951 That is something very intangible.
953 Very valuable
957 So if you guys really want a successful life
958 Your family should be very strong also
1001 It is not necessary your family should be rich
1006 You see that richness is not the mean.
1007 Support.
1011 This is all support, when I say that when you able to communicate your
feelings
1016 It is not matter the language you speak, it the matter the subsant that you
have that you feel
1022 To share for somebody, you know what exactly you feeling that you can
contribute
1024 And you can say to someone that is the biggest element of your success.
1034 You should be enable to communicate what you are feeling
1038 It is not the point what language that you using for it
1042 As long as you are enable to communicate that what you are feeling and
somebody can understand it
1049 Than you find the solution of it as well but if you are unable to communicate
your problem
1055 How can I solve it until and unless I wont understand it
1058 Sir! What you are feeling about change and Change Management
1102 Change and Change Management,
1105 I can speak and speak no of hours
1114 Because I have seen this process very closely
1120 I started my career when there was Nesty Computer Machines and today we
are talking about Iphone age era where we can see each other
1131I was last month, not long ago, first week of this month in March I was in
Germany sitting with a very leading industries CEO
1141And we were talking about this phone, it how smart phone that we have today,
1147 We can talk
1148 We can see
1151 We can transform all kind of picture
1154 We can see email
1158 That you have the smartphone
1200 You are connected with the World
1202 So I was frustrated and started thinking like
1207 What are the elements that make this plant more important like
1213 One camera here
1216 It was a mobile phone before, right
1219 Only you can talk
1223 So they put one camera here, one camera in their mobile phones and they
transform
1225 The rays were already their
1227 Because you can hear your voice, so they send pictures because there are
already four colors that make all kind of colors they put this
1232 Technology in it
1234 Camera in it
1237 One receiver
1241 The receiver receive the code and give you the picture,
1245 What for example if I will put the RGB as he said the practical word for the
Color
1250 So Ill put the GB for smell
1254 What smell you feel whether it is bad, good , best, worst
1300 Its all the cluster of only 22 smell of the World. Right.
1305 So if you put smells in it, there is a coder who can smell and sense what the
smell is this and
1315 Same type that put in the mobile, same rays will send the smell
1322 And touch and smell
1324 So if you want to buy a fresh flower for your Girlfriend, sense the smell that I
am buying a fresh flower for you
1335 Or if you buying something like nice perfume for your wife so you can ask her,
check it
1344 Its a new arrival
1347 So you believe in this that gonna happen very soon. Today you say yes but 10
years ago somebody discuss then you would say no.
1400 What if I put the taste buds in it and when you start touching and then you
feeling a taste
1406 So what if I am buying a Chinese food from an unknown place, so ill take one
spoon and touched it.
1411 And then my wife touched that part, Hmmm taste is good. Buy it
1419 So why not
1435 So I am far far ahead like my belive in change is too much,
1430 I believe that everything is changing,
1433 In every second
1434 in every moment
1438 And if you not keep on changing you will leave behind
1441 Is there is a good quote about change, Change otherwise change will change
you
1446 And have added something in it in the original quote Change otherwise
change will change you
1454 My quote addition to this, if the change will change you, you will not like that
change
1458 You will not like that change because change will force you to change.
