1. Introduction

2. Scope

This Method of Statement covers the required activities in re-configure of the

new programmable logic controller (PLC).

3. Objective

(a) To ensure that task is performed correctly and safely.

(b) To prevent any mishandling of the equipment / instrument.

(c) To complete the job within the given time and prevent any delays
which might lead to longer working hours.

(a) Ensure that all equipments involved (e.g. PLC, flow computers, MMI)
are in good condition.

(b) Inspect Equipment and Instruments thoroughly before commencing

any troubleshooting works to look for possible problem. Should there
be any problem out of scope, then contractor shall immediately inform
PGB site personnel.

(c) Contractor shall bring along all relevant test, calibration equipment,
tools, notebook (complete with relevant Software) and cables.

(d) If required, equipment operation and maintenance manual shall be

made available during troubleshooting.

9. Permit to work

(a) Prior to commence of any work, permit to work shall be applied from
the PGB, Regional Office. All appropriate supporting documents such
as Job Safety Analysis and other supporting drawing to be attached.

10 .Work Procedure

10.1 General

10.1.1 Project Engineer and Site Supervisor should attend the pre-job meeting for the
activities.

10.1.2 Work Leader (Site Supervisor/ Project Engineer) should apply the PTW from PGB
Regional Office. All the supporting document such as Approved JSA, AFC Drawing,
and Emergency Contact Number to be submitted during the PTW application

10.1.3 Work Leader / Site Supervisor shall conduct toolbox meeting and brief the JSA to all
workers/personnel at site before start the activities (Every Morning of each working
days (Monday to Friday). Working hours 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs.

10.2.1 To upload (Unity Pro) / match (Concept) the existing logic from the existing PLC.

10.3 Troubleshooting

10.3.1 To diagnose Time-sync PLC with FC.

10.3.2 Review the configuration of Inlet Pressure range.

10.4 Hardware

10.4.1 To diagnose the possible cause(s) of failure.

10.4.2 To check and verify all interfaces such as power supply, communication links and
wiring terminations are in good working order.

10.4.3 To ensure workstation are allocated at designated area.

10.4.4 Should any hardware fail, then PGB shall decide on whether to purchase hardware
replacement / request from PGB Warehouse.

10.5 MMI Workstation Hardware

10.5.1 Ensure MMI communicates with the PLC.

10.5.2 Ensure MMI can retrieve all status .

10.5.3 Ensure all animations in the mimics are working properly.

10.5.4 To Monitor GCS data selection mimic.

10.6 Rectification

10.6.1 Inform PGB once the cause of failure is found and brief PGB personnel prior to
rectifying the fault.

10.6.2 If isolation of the device is required or any steps taken which might disrupt PGBs
operation, contractor shall first obtain permission from PGB and PGB shall inform all

relevant parties such as SCADA in Segamat and Regional Manager in charge of the
station.

10.6.3 If there is a later version of the developed software, contractor shall update the
software with the latest version.

10.7 Completion

10.7.1 Once the modification work is done, request PGB personnel to witness the test.
Depending on the nature of the fault, the complete loop of the equipment shall be
tested.

10.7.2 Description of work done shall be recorded in contractors service report for record
and billing purpose.

10.7.3 PGB personnel shall review the report and acknowledge this same report.

10.7.4 A copy of the service report shall be made available to PGB within 7days upon
completion.

10.7.5 To inform station supervisor (executive) on the work status on daily basis.
