‘acon HERNANDEZ W106228, ‘The following inmetes were interviewed by Inner Perimeter
‘Security Officers;‘The summaries of unit interviews conducted by Inner Perimeter Security Offers are as follows;
Ont of the inmates that were inferviewed many inmates claimed to have no or very little
{nfermotion with HERNANDEZ, ‘Those inmates stated HERNANDEZ was a private inmate who
‘was approzchable but fot it was their business to get involved with him and they would rather
‘keep fo themselves. Few inmates brought up what wes being ssid on the news and on radio
stations thoy had been listening to. One inmate atated specifioally that tho 98,5 zadio broadcast
hhad beon disnespeotful saying be deserved what he got and had also mentioned that they hed
‘brought up, the fact that HERNANDEZ may be gay. Multiple inmates stated they hed
Jnferactions with HERNANDEZ on 8 daily basis but it wes more of respectful relationship withG : c
only “TH aid “Bye” type conversations in passing, Many inmstés stated thet they had
‘odngratalated HERNANDEZ on his recent coutt decision.
Inmates that had more fitequent interactions with HERNANDEZ stated that he showed no signs *
of any trouble or depression and stated he carried on as nounel. ‘They stated HERNANDEZ hed
made raultiple phone calls, including a phone call to his fiacé and daughter, and with positive
feelings. No inmate statsd he bad any trouble within the unit or spoke of any other known
problems.
Inmates that had stated they were olose with HERNANDRZ stated that he was excitéd over the
-weckend aftes his verdict ceme dowm on Friday.” They stated he was positive and even bappily
emotional, which wne riot usual of HERNANDEZ, Of these inmates some stated they had
played basketball recently with HERNANDEZ and siothing seeried out of the ordinary, A
‘couple of inmates stated he had come to their door befue lock in and described their
‘conversation as “nothing out of the ordinary.”
(Of the inmatas thet said they were “tight” or “real close” with HERNANDEZ, they stated flat he
‘had been more and more spititual es him time progressed in prison. ‘They felt that his suicide
had been some sort of religious message, One inmate stated he did HERNANDEZ’s laundey and.
HERNADEZ had requasted his loundry been ready for the weekend because he wes expecting a
‘Visit from his fiancé and daughter, He stated nothing seemed wrong with HERNANDEZ and he
didn’t seem upset. Anothet inmate stated that HERNANDBZ had talled to iim saore and mare
frequently with a religious tone, This inmate stated that HERNANDEZ came to his door before
Jock in and stated, “remember when you die your soul gets reincamnated.” Another gource
stated that HERNANDEZ hed recently mentioned a rumor, ‘This ramor was thet #f an inmete has
an open appeal on his case and dies in ptison, he is acquitted of his charge and will be deemed
not guilty,
A source who olsimed to be one of HERNANDEZ 's closest fiends steted “Tust spoke with him
‘yesterday anc ho was in a great place,” “Ho was a vey spiritual guy who was always quoting the
bible.” “Since Friday's verdict he had beea taliding about the NFL and. going hack to play even if
