Week Four Reflection

The fourth week was hard and had lot of work. I did my second

observation lesson. I really worked very hard to improve my lesson and do

it much better than my first observation class. I get a positive feedback

from both Mr.Garnel and my MST. The feedback had motivated me a lot to

complete my teaching practice in the way that I always used to in my

preview teaching practice. I had working on my tasks. I had finished my

five lessons and one is left for the last week.

This week I taught two lessons, corrected students work, attend parents

meeting and prepared students' learning journeys. On Monday and

Tuesday, I and my MST were working on students' journeys. It is a book

that summaries students journeys from grade 2 until higher grades. There

is the importance concepts and skills that students must to learn in each

term and years. Each term teacher must highlight what students had

achieved and what he needs to improve and then stick a picture for the

student in this term. I liked the idea of this book. It helps each teacher to

understand the student's abilities and needs. Even next years, the new

teacher will have an idea about the students that will help her in teaching

him. I think I did well this week because I worked hard with my MST to

finished 31 students' journeys and knowing my students make my happy

that I know my students in 4 weeks.

This week I did an interesting differentiation activity that makes me

understands how the differentiation applied in science lessons. I applied it

to match the particular developmental level and skills of each student with

his ability. I believe that differentiated allows students to succeed

(Johnson, 2009). It allows the students to master the concept depend in

what they can. For example, the high students have higher ability than the

low students so I have to give them different activity that helps them to

achieve the same concept. In addition, this week I took the students

outside trip for shadow lesson. The students enjoy the lesson and were

very engaged with the shadow activity. I also enjoyed it because its

change the routine and give us more space especially because we don't

.have windows in the class

This week, I also worked in my task. I met with Mr. Akram, vice principle,

to collect school information. I met Ms. Dhanya, lab and science materials

teacher. I saw that the school has a lot of science aids. They classify the

materials as it physic, chemical and biology. Ms. Dhanya was very friendly

and welcoming. I think this week I did interacts effectively with students

and staff. All of them were welcoming me for any questions or need.

On Tuesday, I met students' parents with my MST. I saw how the teacher

talk with the parents about their child and how she was preparing all

students work to present it to the parent. I saw that how the parents are

working and want to improve their children to be always the best and

learn. I helped some parents to translate between the teachers and them

and deliver their massage. I know that the parents need to resave school

e-mails in Arabic language which will be better for them because the

school uses to send all the e-mails in English. Next week, My MST and I will

tell Mr.Akram about this issue.

For next week:

- Meeting with school science coordinator.

- Teach one lesson.
