SUBJECT: The Commercial International Bank (CIB) Market Economics SIFE

Topic Competition

Purpose

To encourage tertiary SIFE teams to educate others how a market based

economic system operations.

Judging Criterion

How effectively did the SIFE team measure and demonstrate that it created
economic opportunity by helping others understand how a market based
economic system operates?

Participation Details

The official name of SIFEs Market Economics topic in this country is now: The
CIB Market Economics SIFE Topic Competition. SIFE Teams are required to
use this official name when making reference to their market economics SIFE
activities throughout the year including during their presentation at national
competition (audio visual and written annual report). The CIB is being recognized
as the national sponsor of SIFEs Market Economics program.

1. A minimum of 10 t-shirts highlighting this topic sponsorship will be made

available to each SIFE Team. Team members are encouraged to wear
them whenever feasible in carrying out related project activities in the field
2. An electronic copy of the topic sponsors official logo will be made
available to each Team for proper and appropriate use when relevant.
Teams are very strongly encouraged to display this logo in their annual
report and audio visual presentation at national competition when
reference is made to their market economics activities, since this will make

 it significantly easier for the sponsor judges to identify the relevant
initiatives and score them accordingly.
3. SIFE Teams must compete at the national competition in order to be
considered for this award. Results will be announced and awards given on
competition day.

Judging
Business leaders appointed by CIB will be assigned to judge in each league of
the SIFE competition (contact the SIFE country office for exact date and location
of this years competition) where they will evaluate the overall effectiveness and
impact of each teams market economics initiatives as per the above judging
criterion.

Official Award Name: The CIB Market Economics SIFE Topic Competition
Award

First Place approximate local equivalent of L.E. 3000 + plaque (1 first place
award for each opening league)

Second Place approximate local equivalent of L.E. 2000 + plaque (1 second

place award for each opening league)

Third Place honorary mention (1 third place mention for each opening league)

TIP
Educational outreach projects completed effectively for The CIB Market
Economics SIFE Topic Competition will simultaneously fulfill at least SIFE judging
criteria #1 in the overall national competition.
