Overall Reflection

The goal of this portfolio is to represent all the major assignments I have completed

during this spring semester. All of my work used for these assignments is included

as well so the readers can follow how I completed each assignment. The order in

which these assignments are read does not matter because as long as the readers

are able to read over all the reflections first then they can choose the order in which

they can review my work. By exploring what looks interesting to the readers instead

of having a specific order the viewers are more likely to pay attention because

they're reading about something they are interested in.

The student learning outcomes are demonstrated in my portfolio by all the

assignments including throughout the project. The use of rhetorical knowledge can

be seen within the genre project with the rhetorical decisions assignment that tells

who the inquiry project would benefit. Critical reading can also be seen in the

annotated bibliography project with the double entry journal assignment because it

shows citations in analysis in a side-by-side view. The composing in process can be

seen in the genre project as well because it shows all the background information

needed to create the project. The use of knowledge of convention in the scene in

most of the major assignments with my drafts of the assignments compared to the

changes made in the finish copies. Finally, critical reflections can also be seen in all

my major assignments where I have reflected on my work after peer reviews and

critiques.
Over this semester, the main three habits of the mind that I have practiced have

been engagement, creativity, and flexibility. I practiced engagement by

participating in class activities and an out of class. I also used creativity to help me

develop my ideas as well as I managed to incorporate information about working

with animals and I lost all my assignments. I practiced flexibility along with

creativity in order to incorporate the common idea of helping animals in the most

assignments in a way that will follow the requirements for the projects.

Moving forward I learned how to free right and how that has help me to become a

better writer for all my other assignments in class. What I would do differently next

time however would be working harder to get all my assignments turned in on time.

What I would do the same though would be choosing the same topic I chose to use

for all my assignments because they're all focused on Nadia I am passionate about

so that meant was more enjoyable writing for these assignments. What I know

about myself now that I did not know before taking this course would be how I can

improve my writing from practicing for ten minutes every day to free write as a way

to express my writing skills without being critical about my own writing style and

choices.
