though women are far better represented in the
Andante Cantabile Rebecca King composing world these days, that does not mean that
Badinage Rebecca King we should not celebrate and explore this genre. As a
ladies choir, it is an obvious interest for us. Do female
Spring Song Imogen Holst composers approach composition differently? Is their
Echos Song Imogen Holst music affected by their gender? Perhaps we can
consider some of these questions tonight.

You may recognise or know some of the music in
Interval tonights concert, but I hope and expect, that much of
the programme will be new to you. Exploring,
Ave Maria Rebecca Clarke performing and introducing new music is one of the
Ave Maria Roxanna Panufnik key aims of Mirinesse Singers and, having performed
Ahe Lau Makani Queen Liliuokalani a lot of the same music over and over again in the
Four Rounds from The Green Children Nicola Le Fanu past, one of my chief motivations when setting up the
choir. You may have heard of some of the composers
The Roses Rachel Portman and others will also be new to you. We hope you enjoy
it all and all the different styles represented tonight.
