STRESZCZENIE. Osoby z cukrzyc napotykaj wiele yciowych problemw, ktre naley rozwizywa we wsppracy lekarza z pacjentem i
jednoczenie w zgodnoci z celami i zaleceniami medycznymi. U wielu pacjentw jest to problem wyboru i wykonywania pracy zawodowej.
Praca fizyczna. Cukrzyca moe pojawia si przed wyborem zawodu i stanowiska pracy obcionej duymi wysikami fizycznymi w czasie jej
wykonywania. W opiece diabetologicznej pojawia si wtedy potrzeba oceny patofizjologicznego i klinicznego wpywu wykonywanej pracy na
indywidualnie scharakteryzowan cukrzyc.
W opracowaniu przedstawiono kolejno omwienia: metod oceny zdolnoci do wykonywania pracy fizycznej, zakresu adaptacji metabolicznej
i hemodynamicznej do wysikw fizycznych, sposobw oceny intensywnoci wysikw fizycznych w relacji do indywidualnie okrelonej wy-
dolnoci fizycznej i klinicznej pacjenta.
Praca bez znacznych wysikw fizycznych. W drugiej czci opracowania przedstawiono dyskusj klinicznego znaczenia pracy bez wysikw
fizycznych dla przebiegu cukrzycy oraz zasady wyboru i praktykowania odpowiedniego zawodu opartego na pracy umysowej.
Problemy te maj istotne znaczenie w praktyce leczenia i rokowania w cukrzycy.

SUMMARY. Persons with diabetes mellitus encounter many life problems, which have to be solved in the concordance with individual medi-
cal aims and therapeutic recommendations. Selection of profession and type of work, adapting professional activity to the medical, social
and economical circumstances is the responsibility of the physicians.
1. Work connected with every day, professional, physical efforts creates special needs in this area.
Diabetes mellitus may exist before selecting the type of profession and character of work or may appear later during practice of the earlier
selected profession. In both situations it creates specific problems in diabetological care as the need for the new pathophysiological as-
sessments and specification of the physical work influence on the diabetes mellitus clinical status.
Therefore the following topics were presented and discussed: 1. methods of the individual physical efficiency assessment, 2. metabolic
adaptation to physical efforts connected with profession, 3. hemodynamic changes, 4. methods of establishing relation between intensity of
physical efforts and individual, physical efficiency of the person with diabetes mellitus. All these problems influence the practical diabetes
mellitus care.
2. In the second part of this elaboration problems of selecting the professional education and executing the work not connected with physical
efforts are discussed. Advances of diabetes mellitus control liberalize the choices and practice in this area.
