The K4S (rectilinear) and K4R (centriform) families of arm-

cutoff distribution patterns in the same housing, a consistent

O KAS Series
The classic rectangular shape of the KAS family is the time-
honored solution to many outdoor lighting situations ... and
Lithonia Architectural Outdoor leads all other manufacturers
in production of this type of general area lighting. The KAS is
available in three housing sizes, determined by lamp wattage.
Four reflector systems - Type II, Type lll, Type IV and Type V
Square provide the versatility needed for uniform perform-
ance on the ground. Each KAS luminaire may be pole or wall
mounted with a 12" extruded aluminum arm. Standard finish
on the hand detailed KAS is dark bronze TCIC polyester pow
der enamel to withstand punishing environmental elements.

KAR Series
Cracefully-shaped lighting to endure over many decades is
provided by the circular KAR family. Three sizes of round hous-
ings ensure the correct proportions for a large parking lot or
pedestrian walkway. There is a choice of four distribution
patterns: Type lll Type lll] Type lV and Type V Square*
(*interchangeable in the field within the same size housing).
The standard housings are smooth spun, finished with dark
bronze TCIC polyester powder enamel; nine other colors or
Architectural Class 1 anodize are available also. A 9" extruded
aluminum arm, specially machined. cleanly mounts the KAR
to pole or wall.
Optical Systems
All reflectors pass IES "cutoff" criteria. Lithonia Architectural
Outdoor reflectors are made from reflector-grade aluminum
alloys, anodized, brightened and sealed. Each reflector is spe-
cific to the distribution. No compromises such as different
socket settings, add-on shields, etc. are tolerated

in five commonly-used scales.

cisely plotted footcandle levels on your bluepr'nts.
r SPEC-L, Special Programs for Engineering Calculations for
Lighting, is a comprehensive yet user-friendly PC-based
software package developed by Lithonia Lighting. The pro-
grams have been extremely well received by lighting de-
signers around the country, garnering high marks for ease
of operation and program design. Reviewed in the IES mag-
azine Lighting Designl Application in October 1988, the
evaluator said "lt does all the things one would want from
a lighting design piece ... without any reservation, SPEC-L
is the easiest lighting program that I have run. '

Battast/Electrical Sysfem Ballasts are 100% copper wound
and factory tested for reliable operation. Electrical compo-
nents are isolated from the optical chamber to provide ex
cellent heat control and long ballast life. Removable power
door on KAS2 and KAS3 for ease of installation'haintenance.
Positive locking disconnect plug. 70 15OW HPS ballasts
are high reactance, high power factor. All other lamps and
wattages are constant wattage autotransformer.
Finish Dark bronze TCIC polyester powder electrostatically
applied and oven cured is standard. Nine other architectural
