tuea Lighting
L\terior lighting of a project enhances the appearance, high-
lights specific design elements and attracts and reassures
users of the space. Luminaires must combine daltime aes
thetics with nighttime performance. Lithonia Architectural
Outdoor, a division of the largest lighting company in the
Llnited States, brings quality with superior value to sPecifica
tion-grade outdoor lighting.
The K4S (rectilinear) and K4R (centriform) families of arm-
mounted luminaires are recognized as the logical choice for
specifiers concerned with apPearance, performance, and
value. A choice of optical systems in the KAS and KAR max-

All reflectors pass IES "cutoff" criteria. Lithonia Architectural
Outdoor reflectors are made from reflector-grade aluminum
alloys, anodized, brightened and sealed. Each reflector is spe-

Lighting Layout Assistance
Outdoor lighting on a project, regardless of da).time appear
ance, is not satisfactory if it does not accomplish the basic
goal: a pleasing nighttime effect combined with efficiency and
security for people and property.
Selecting the best luminaire/reflector/lamp combination, at
the correct mounting height, can be a complex task. Lithonia
Architectural Outdoor affords the lighting designer several
levels of support:
. Detailed photometric information published on the back of
every fixture specification sheet.
. Tdmplate binder which includes all Lithonia Architectural
Outdoor luminaires. Distribution patterns are printed on vel-
lum, for single and twin mount, at several mounting heights,
in five commonly-used scales.
. Layout recommendations from your local Lithonia repre-
sentative who can calculate point-by-point measurements.
. Application Engineering assistance from the factory for pre
cisely plotted footcandle levels on your bluepr'nts.
r SPEC-L, Special Programs for Engineering Calculations for
Lighting, is a comprehensive yet user-friendly PC-based
software package developed by Lithonia Lighting. The pro-
grams have been extremely well received by lighting de-
signers around the country, garnering high marks for ease
of operation and program design. Reviewed in the IES mag-
azine Lighting Designl Application in October 1988, the
evaluator said "lt does all the things one would want from
a lighting design piece ... without any reservation, SPEC-L
is the easiest lighting program that I have run. '
