FINAL WRITTEN PROJECT PREPARATION

ACTIVITY 1: PREPARE FOR THE READING EXAM 2.

1. You are expected to be familiarized with most of the vocabulary covered in
previous Weekly Agendas and Units 1 to 3 from the textbook that includes de
vocabulary in the activities above.
2. During the reading exam you will be asked to:
Identify the main idea of the text
Deduce the meaning of words from their context.
Identify: Pronoun references
Understand information in a chart. Interpret graphs.
Identify false information.
Identify processes or routines completing missing information.
3. EXAM INSTRUCTIONS:
1) MAKE SURE YOU WILL HAVE A CAMERA CONNECTED
2) MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO SHARE THE SCREEN
3) CONNECT IN THE MOODLE PLATFORM.
4) OPEN UNIT 3, FIND EXAM TITLE: READING EXAM 2, May 12
5) I will call you as soon as I see you connected taking the exam
6) If you do not connect your camera or answer my call on Skype I will
cancel your exam OR your exam will not recorded in the grades.
7) Make sure you answer all the questions of the exam.
8) The exam will only be activated for ONE HOUR
9) There will only be 13 questions in the exam.
ACTIVITY 2: READING ABOUT THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

1) Go to the Moodle Platform

2) Open Unit 3 and read the following articles:

3) Write a question and the answer for each paragraph of this article.
4) There are 6 paragraphs in this article (2 pages) write 6 questions with the
corresponding answers.

ACTIVITY 3: FINAL PROJECT PREPARATION

The Manufacturing Process, Safety,

Maintenance and Quality Control.

. For this final Project you will be looking for a job in a Colombian Company or a
Multinational Company with presence in Colombia that manufactures any type of
product: household, motor vehicle industry, food processing industry, heavy machinery
industry, etc.

1. PREPARE A PLAN AND SUBMITTED BEFORE THE EXAM

2. THE PLAN SHOULD DESCRIBE THE FOLLOWING IDEAS

1) Name of the Company (real Company)

 2) Description about the Company:
a. A brief history: years constituted
b. Type of Company
c. Position in the market or industrial sector
3) Description of the products they manufacture
a. Type of products
b. Variety of products
c. Special features of their products
4) Draw the production Flow Chart of the Company.
5) Make a list of personnel that will be required to make the Company run
efficiently.
a. Professionals in the manufacturing process
- Write a brief job description of the positions you will like to apply for in
this Company (it can be more than one).
b. Professionals in the research process
c. Professionals in the design and testing process
d. Supporting technical personnel
e. Administrative personnel.
6) Safety, maintenance and Quality Control process of the Company.
7) Layout or Map of the Company, pictures or additional information.
