ABOUT SGS
The strategic decision to establish Saudi Ground Services
Company was a result of several years of hard and
extensive work to form this entity:
2006 The Ground Services Unit, then under Saudi
Arabian Airlines Catering, became a Strategic
Business Unit. Operations were initially limited
to providing ramp services at the three main
stations in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.

2007 Ground Services expanded to Qasim and Yunbu,

then later in the same year it started providing
passenger services to international airlines in
Riyadh.

2008 After the remarkable performance of Ground

Services, the decision was made to combine
passenger services with ground services at
Dammam Station.More than 20 additional full
services domestic stations have joined Ground
Services the same year.

2009 Passenger services at Medinah station were

included in followed by Riyadh station later the
same year.

2010 Passenger services at Jeddah station were

included, at which point Ground services had
a comprehensive network at all airports in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

2011 SGS was formed by merging the Ground Services

Strategic Unit of Saudi Arabian Airlines, National
Handling Services, and Al Attar Company.
