Local Entrepreneur Brutally Murdered: The City Reacts

Jay Gatsby, local
West Egg
aristocratic and
entrepreneur, was
brutality murdered
by a car mechanic
this past week. The
shooter allegedly
arrived at the Gatsby
residence during the
early afternoon with
a gun, made his way to the backyard, and shot the
bureaucrat in the upper body before taking his own life.
The police continue to search for the gunmans alternative
motive for the planned assault; no eye witnesses have
come forward, including the fallen mans own butler. The
community has reacted in a surplus of ways: many have
expressed a sense of shock while others have actively
started to uncover the mystery that is the life of Jay
Gatsby.
Nick Carraway, next door neighbor and friend of Gatsby,
gave his words to us about his thoughts on the situation,
Jay played an important role in my life, and I in his. The
world knew so little about him, and I am not one to say
that I know him inside and out, for I do not, but he showed
me a new side of humans. Gatsby believed in the green
light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before
us. It eluded us then, but thats no mattertomorrow we
will run faster, stretch out our arms farther (Fitzgerald
180) He taught me lessons about the world that I will
never dare forget.
Other key socialites that were known to have conversed
with the likes of the deceased, such as Tom and Daisy
Buchanan, accredited as owners of a successful polo
company, refused to give any comment on the tragedy.
Mr. Carraway continues on, One gentle-man to whom I
telephoned implied that he got what he deserved
(Fitzgerald 169). No man deserves that fate. No man at
all.
Gatsby is survived by no one, being that he had no known
spouse/ significant other, children, or relatives. The
funeral will be held September 20-21 at the cathedral of
St. Homobonus, located in West Egg.
George Wilson: Psychotic or Motivated?
The suspected perpetrator of the murder of Jay Gatsby,
George Wilson, has been confirmed dead of the West Egg
coroner. The
man is said to
have
committed
suicide
following the
assault and left
no specific
indication of a
possible
motive, but
local detectives have a new theory.
George Wilson, a struggling auto-body shop owner from
the Valley of Ashes, appeared to have never crossed paths
with his wealthy victim, but new witness accounts claim
that one of his family members did. An anonymous lead
described how Myrtle Wilson, wife of George, had been
seen flaunting high priced gifts all over town. These gifts,
according to the papers financial consultant, would not be
easily obtainable to a man in the financial

predicament that Wilson was in, begging the question: was
Myrtle his mistress?
Detective Floyd, the lead in this case, believes that the
death of Myrtle Wilson is what triggered George to
confront the man who he believed to be the man his wife
involved herself with..
She was obviously involved with some form of a
relationship with a wealthier higher-up, Floyd told us,
exclusively. After the accident, neighbors say he
(Wilson) was white-hot, telling them how he believed it to
be planned. He said he was planning on moving her out
west. Myrtle Wilson passed away in a hit-and-run
accident, though no car or real evidence has ever come
forward that suggests foul play
He was very similar to Gatsby, a mutual friend explains.
They both just adored their ladies, but ol George just
could never imagine life without his wife. He had next to
nothing, and everything that he did have was for his lady,
like Jay. Who knows, maybe Georges role in life was just
to lead a loving life with his gal. Then again, maybe that
was Jays, too.
George Wilson: mad with passion or just plain mad?
Could be the latter. This, however, is only considered a
possible theory as to why Wilson committed his crime.

Scott Fitzgerald
Hot up-and-coming novelist F.

Scott Fitzgerald is being recognized worldwide for his
work. His latest novel, This Side of Paradise, has received
remarkable reviews as of late. Now that this young man
has jumped into the spotlight, there is more that the public
truly needs to know.
F. Scott Fitzgerald was born in St. Paul Minnesota as
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, a namesake coming from his
distant cousin, the write of the Star-Spangled Banner. In
his teenage years, while attending a catholic preparatory
school in New Jersey, Father Sigourney Fay discovered
the lads knack for writing and encouraged him to follow
his passion (Biography.com 1). Fitzgerald is often quoted
as saying that this was the time when he really fell in love
with the art of writing.

After dropping out of Princeton and having his first novel,
The Romantic Egotist, be rejected, Fitzgerald was
stationed to serve in the World War, where he went on to
meet his future wife, Zelda Sayre (Biography.com 1).
However, he was never truly deployed into active battle
and headed to New York for an advertising job. Now,
however, he is back in St. Paul with his wife and daughter,
writing new stories.
The public, critics, and our staff hopes to see more work
come from this great author, who is currently known for
his short stories that have been featured in some of this
years most popular magazines. Only one question lingers
on: what more can this author do?

A common complaint
through the current
decade is that those who
are considered affluent have no respect or compassion
for others. According to a recent poll that was given to
employees of common offices and other members of the
working class, an astonishing 62% believe that their
bosses and company owners are insensitive to their
struggles and/or treat their employees as though they are
inferior. That being said, local reporters haven to the
streets to interior local working class civilians.
The first couple of interviewees, Andrew and Richard
Smith, seemed to agree with the national poll. Andrew
states, Those darn rich folks use their money like a
security blanket! Nothing else matters to them besides
their money.
Richard went on, I spent all day working, trying to earn a
buck for my family, and I still cant even afford enough
money to feed everybody! My boss has enough money to
feed himself three times over Worst of all, when one of
my coworkers passed away, the jerk didnt even show up
to the funeral. At least send some flowers, show some
respect. The Buchanans did not even attend.

Bettie Beck claims that she has never met a fair man of a
wealthy family. I had to pick up a job because the two
that my husband has just dont pay the bills. There are
weeks that the kids dont even see their father They
have all that money, yet they have no joy present in their
lives.
It is official, the local working class directly relates with
the 62%, claiming that the upper class is a hollow,
heartless group of people. Is there a reason for this

Jay Gatsby Changed My Life
Nick Carraway, neighbor and
friend of the fallen Jay Gatsby,
has been very vocal about the
effect that his former friend had
on his life. Following the
announcement of the death, Mr.
Carraway has exclusively asked
to release his statement on the life and death of Jay Gatsby.
The following is the exact letter that he has written
regarding the matter:
An enigma; a mystery; a quiet man. Jay Gatsby was seen
by many, yet no soul truly know him. His presence was
never demanding, but his name could silence a room. He
led a glamorous life but did it unknowingly so. Jay was an
iceberg.
He taught me lessons that I never truly cared to know
and he never intended these teachings be delivered. The
life this man lived was never for himself; the fabulous
being was meant to be for another, another who rejected
him for wealth over love. I learned that West Coast people
must stay on the West Coast. I learned that love cannot be
mutual. I learned that there is no American dream. And
now with his passing, I learned that Jay Gatsby changed
my life.
His light shines on through the few good souls that will
forever remember him. His efforts were noble, but Jay
never grasped the true intention for which he worked. I
will never forget what you did, Jay. I will never forget
what you taught me. I will never forget you.

Good day,
I was wondering when more information would given
regarding the hit-and-run on Myrtle Wilson. Being that her
husband has just passed, many are hoping to know more about
her demise and if it connects to his passing.
This information has not been released to any publications as
of yet, but a story will be written immediately after the official
report is given. However, read our article on George Wilson to
find out more about his situation.

What more can you tell us about your ad pertaining
to recent hirings at the West Egg estates? Are the positions
still open or have the spots been filled up?
Sadly, with the tragedy that has struck the Gatsby estate, no
positions are available for work. However, continue to check
the local ads and bulletins that have been posted around town
for openings.

What is your input on the recent sporting events in the
community, particularly Jordan Bakers last match and the
polo teams losing streak?
Jordan Baker has been doing decent as of late. While her
matches have been acceptable, she needs to work on her
putting. With those improvements, she is bond to win it big at
her next tournament.
As for the polo club, the players and staff need to work on
concertation. They all seem to have wandering minds as of
late. I would not be surprised if the group continue on with this
downward spiral. Our staff has reached out to Tom Buchanan,
prominent member of the polo society, for comment and are
anguishly awaiting his response.
