I applied through college or university and the process took 2 months - interviewed at
Capital One in November 2012.

Interview Details Interviewed on campus, asked 3 in depth experience based

questions (tell me about a time when you...) with follow ups. After that had to do an online
intelligence with a math and critical reading section. Math was drawing info from charts
and tables, and was actually pretty challengings, the reading was answering questions
about short paragraphs, pretty easy. Next round was at office, had 2 case interviews and
another behavioral interview. The cases were based on stuff about credit cards, and
each required a little critical thinking and creativity, and each had a quantitative
component where you had to calculate something. Nothing too intense just a little
algebra e.g. figuring out break even points. They also give you a calculator but I
recommend you try not to use it. Not too bad. Also the people are extremely nice.

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at
Capital One in October 2012.

Interview Details Campus recruiter came on our career fair and we entered our
information into their system. after that they tell you do complete 2 tests, one analytical
and one math, quantitative reasoning. After that they tell you to go to their campus for an
on-site interview which consisted of a behavioral interview, a case interview, and a job fit
interview.

Contrary to what most said, i thought that the behavior interview was most difficult as they
asked you for scenarios in your life when you had to influence someone's decision,
when you had to explain something technical to another person with no prior knowledge,
and what you believe is one of the greatest accomplishment in your life. Don't think you
can BS the behavioral because they ask a lot of questions about details of those
scenarios. they also ask why they should hire you and all some other behavioral
questions. definitely prepare for this and have a couple of life stories to tell.

Case wasn't too bad, it consisted of 2 numerical problems, 1 hypothetical business

problem, and 1 business brain storming problem. just prepare for these.

Job fit was very laid back. they just ask you questions about how you prefer to work and a
little about your knowledge in your field of studies. it is based on your resume.

Interview Question tell me about a time when you had to explain something technical
to a person who has no prior knowledge of what you're trying to show them. Answer

Interview Details Phone screen. Then written test. Once you pass written test, you will

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Capital
One in July 2008.

Interview Details Math test followed by onsite interview. Math test comprised of 30-35
questions and you have 25 minutes to answer. The key is to answer them quickly. Not
many people are able to finish all the questions. Onsite interview comprised of 2 case
interviews and 1 behavioral interview. Behavioral interview isn't difficult. Case interview is
broken down to several sub questions and gets harder toward the end.

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Capital One in May 2012.

Interview Details The process is standard as others have mentioned. First I was
contacted by HR by phone. Second, I completed the online test. Capital One provides
useful resources to help you prepare for the test. Then, I was invited to Richmond for an
on-site, which includes 2 behavioral and 2 case interviews. All the interviewers were
senior managers who are familiar with the company and in the job family that I
interviewed for, which is great. The interviewers were all very friendly and helpful. The
behavioral interviews are straightforward, you just need to know your stories well. It's a
good idea to prepare for the cases - I did not, but they let me know when I made a
mistake. It's critical to keep communicating what you are thinking with the interviewer.
After the on-site, I had two more phone interviews with hiring managers in the following
week, and got the offer 3 days later.
