A life of creating new knowledge
with high impact
Research driven business schools are some of the best places in the world to do high
impact social science because of generous resources and easy access to the laboratory
of real world decision-making. Beyond these strengths, INSEADs PhD Programme
uniquely offers a degree of flexibility that is unparalleled.

INSEADs deep culture of inter-departmental collaboration, multiple campus locations

(France, Singapore and Abu Dhabi) and alliance partners (Wharton, Sorbonne and
Tsinghua) mean that as a PhD student you are in an extraordinarily diverse environment
in terms of the domains from which you can draw on research ideas and advisers, and
even the choice of which continent you need to be on for your research. Our stipend
is generous, automatically covers 5 years, and we provide health insurance coverage
for you and your family. While we do everything we can to make sure students enter
productive research collaborations with faculty as early in their careers as possible, we
want them to do so as equal contributors - your fellowships are exactly that and do not
require you to work as we do not impose research assistance requirements to support
your doctoral studies.

INSEADs PhD Programme has a simple strategy:

Recruit the brightest, most creative minds from around the world. Train them to be
innovative researchers. Place them at the best business schools in the world.

We have been remarkably successful, given our strong placement record and our
graduates research achievements for over 25 years, and we aspire to do even better.
I invite you to join us in this enterprise.

Financial information
In practice, it is rare for students to fund
tuition from their own resources. All successful
applicants are eligible for INSEAD Fellowship
- full tuition fee waiver, generous living
allowance, substantial research support and
health insurance for up to five years. This
means that students do not have to bear the
financial burdens typically associated with
postgraduate study.

INSEAD Fellowshipsare available during the

first five years of studies (for a full twelve
months), renewed annually dependent
on satisfactory progress. Candidates are
encouraged to seek external financial
support where available, and will receive
complementary INSEAD fellowship funding.
