(A)Artificial satellites are human built objects orbiting the earth and other planets in the solar system.
They are used for various purposes. Recently, India becomes the first country to script history after
launching the 104 satellites in a single rocket on 15th February 2017. Find the information about this and
prepare a project report on A-4 size sheets.
Hints: 1. Name the organization that created this world record?
2. Objectives of this mission.
3. Space craft properties like launch mass, power, name of launch vehicle etc.
4. Orbital parameters like Reference system, Regime, Perigee, Apogee, Inclination, period.
5. Name & applications of two Nano (small) satellites.
6. About Cartosat-2 series and its usage.

(B) Our everyday lives involve activities such as sitting, walking, picking up things from the ground. None
of these activities are possible in orbit. Once a spacecraft reaches orbit everything inside it appears to be
weightless.
Research and elaborate the effects of zero gravity on astronauts body-
1. How do astronauts adjust themselves in space?
2. What kind of foods do astronauts eat in space today?
3. Write the main parts of a space suit in the given diagram.
4. What are the four things you would face if you were to step outside a spacecraft without a space suit?

Label it.

size sheets.

So lets do this project on WORLD PEACE
A. Young people are the future of a nation and they have their whole lives ahead of them. Imagine you
have an opportunity to address some world leaders at a gathering. What would you tell them ? Write a
speech you would like to make. Use these guidelines (In about 120-150 words)
Make a list of the important issues you feel need to be addressed by the leaders.
Make an outline before you start writing a speech. The outline must include the introduction, the
body of the speech and the conclusion.
Use simple, everyday language. Use active verbs. Avoid the passive voice.
You could begin the speech with a quotation, an anecdote or some thought provoking questions.
Your speech must flow smoothly and should be well connected.
You could use quotation as these in your speech

B. Design a poster titled WORLD PEACE. Include:-
An illustration
A slogan for peace
What should end ? (Hint : Violence)
What should be done ? (Hint : Tolerance)
Use about 40 50 Words
C. Nations spend millions on maintaining their armies, building / buying weapons and engaging in wars.
Suppose you had the opportunity to decide how these funds may be used, what would be your
suggestion ? Write them in about 100 120 Words.
D. Prepare a debate on the topic
All Weapons must be destroyed to save mankind

HINTS :

1. The presence of weapons, especially nuclear weapons carries immense risk
2. The use of nuclear weapons will lead to destruction of mankind.

1. It is unrealistic to expect all countries to destroy their weapons.
2. The effects of nuclear weapons are so devastating that no one will use them.

A.)L. 8 Marginalized Groups and Social Justice
Fundamental rights are universal and do not allow any form of discrimination .However both developing
and developed countries face challenges, guaranteeing equal opportunities to all. Marginalized groups are
at times left behind, denying many people of their rights. Lets find about some of these marginalized
groups :
*Find out the names of any five adivasi tribes
*Locate these tribes on the political map of India
*Both state and Central Government ensure that specific schemes are implemented and tribal areas are
benefitted. Find out the Provisions given under Schedule Tribes Act 1989.

The health of people is the foundation upon which all their happiness and all their powers as a state
depend.
The practice of Public Health has been dynamic in India and has witnessed many hurdles in its attempt to
affect the lives of the people in the country. Prepare a report on the government machinery for Public
Health needs in India for the following:
*Challenges confronting Public Health
*Role of government within the health sector
*Role of government in enabling intersectorial co-ordination
*Role of private sector
*Achievements of government
C.)Lets recapitulate our chapters by:
1.finding out the land use pattern of your city and categorizing it into residential land , commercial land ,
land used for entertainment , forest land, farm land , land used for utility services (schools , hospitals
etc.)(Give the percentage for each)
