Final Conclusion : Pass / Fail

Acceptance Criteria : Average filter face velocity of 0.4 0.5m/s or 80 100 fpm, with no single value
deviating more than 20% from the calculated average.

Testing was performed:

In accordance with the following IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology) contamination
control document: IEST-RP-CC002.2 Recommended Practice for Unidirectional Flow Clean Air Devices
Section 6.1

2. Particle Count / Product Protection Test

The counting was evaluated in accordance with the cleanliness requirements of the following standards:
Class 3 as per ISO 14644 Class 1 / M.1.5 as per US Federal Standard 209E
Class 0.035 as per Australian Standard AS 1386 Class 1 as per German Standard VDI 2083

Test Points on Filter Face

An airborne particle counter was set up within

the interior of the cabinet to count 0.1 micron
Pt 1 _______ Pt 3 _______ sized particles. The filter face was divided into a
suitable number of grids. Cumulative particle
count for a duration of 1 minute was taken at
the centre of each imaginary grid, taking air
sample of 1 cu ft. Finally, from the readings
obtained, an average value was calculated.
Pt 2 _______ Pt 4 _______ Original particle counter printouts are not
included with this report but are available, on
request, for inspection, from Esco.

<---- Approx 1.2m ---->

Average Count : ____________________ Pass / Fail

Counting status : As-built

Acceptance Criteria : Average count of less than 35 particles per cubic foot of air

Testing was performed:

a. In accordance with the cleanliness requirements of the standards above.

b. In accordance with the following IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology)
contamination control documents: IEST-RP-CC002.2 Recommended Practice for Unidirectional Flow
Clean Air Devices Section 6.6 and IEST-G-CC1001 Technical Guide for Counting Airborne Particles
for Classification and Monitoring of Cleanrooms and Clean Zones

3. Natural Aerosol Challenge Filter Leak Scan (PAO Equivalent)

With the particle counter set to monitor particles on 0.1 microns, the counter probe was slowly moved over
the entire surface of the filter (including areas surround the gasket). Any spikes in the instantaneous
particle count (which could represent a possible filter leak) were recorded. The test was performed with the
cabinet sited in a normal room environment.

Acceptance Criteria : No filter leaks should be detected *

Results : Pass / Fail

* In accordance with the requirements of the following standards:

IEST-RP-CC001.3 Recommended Practice for HEPA and ULPA Filters
EN 1822 High Efficiency Air Filters (HEPA and ULPA)

5. Noise Level Test

The cabinet was isolated in a noise-controlled environment and a noise level meter was set up at a distance
of 30 cm in front of the cabinet and 38 cm above the work surface. With the cabinet running under normal
parameters, the instrument was used to obtain a noise level of the cabinet during normal operation.

Results: : __________ dBA Pass / Fail

Acceptance Criteria : Less than 67 dBA (Based on IEST-RP-CC002.2 Section 6.11)

6. Vibration Test

Actual vibration (cabinet on) : __________________________________ m RMS amplitude

Background vibration (cabinet off) : __________________________________ m RMS amplitude

Net vibration (actual minus backgd.) : __________________________________ m RMS amplitude

Acceptance : Maximum cabinet vibration (net value) should be less than 0.5 x 10-5 m RMS amplitude

Result : Pass / Fail
