Members of the Board of Supervisors, Mr. Tadlock, good evening. I am Susie Cambria, a
resident of Heathsville. As I mentioned when we first met, I am new to the area. And I am
thrilled to be here. This part of the world is lovely as are the people and I am lucky to have
found such a welcoming community to retire in.

I am here tonight to ask about the proposed $ .02 increase. I've reviewed the proposed
budget, so I know that the General Property Taxes revenue category Real Property Taxes
would increase 5% from $15.1 million to $15.8 million.

I've also reviewed the expenditure side of the budget. I know from the work session last
month that there are some fairly substantial increases in the budget. These include the
$150,000 for the Sheriff's Office, $100,000 for the reassessment, and $284,045 for
Ambulance and Rescue Services.

So to my question: Are there things other than these and other increases which account for
the proposed real property tax increase? For example, have you considered the current
proposed budget and looked into the future a couple of years and anticipate other increases?
