operation.
Plummer oversees the function as part of the
office of the commissioner and has a direct
line reporting authority to the governor of New
Hampshire. He oversees the NH Bureau of

The #3-seeded Campbell Lady Cougars
topped #6 Belmont on Saturday, June 3,
in the NHIAA Division 3 quarterfinals. At
press time, Campbell is scheduled to next
face #2-seeded Mascenic in the semi-
finals on June 7 at Plymouth State. If the
Cougars come out on top vs. Mascenic,
the CHS softball ladies will face the
winner of the White Mountains/Conant
contest in the finals at Plymouth State on
Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m.
As for the game vs. Belmont,
Campbells Olivia Byers pitched all seven
innings, allowing only five hits and one
run along with five strikeouts. Campbell
cracked it open in the 4th inning with
a lead-off single by Mary Kuczkowski,

Hudson Memorial Baseball Ends Season with 10-2 Record

submitted by Kyle Precourt
The Hudson Memorial Baseball team had quite a season, ending with a 10-2
record. The team clinched the number 1 seed going into the playoffs. The Colts
were able to make it to the championship game after a 6 to 0 win over Woodbury
Middle School. In the championship game, Bedford Middle School got out to an
early lead and was able to hold on to it for the entire game, winning 11-1.
Even though the season came to an end with the loss, the team had one of the
best seasons in years. The Colts had 11 eighth graders that all contributed in a
positive way. Strong pitching performances from Jagger Forsyth, Jacob Hobart,
Thomas Tierney, Kody Hobart and Josh Macdonald kept the Colts in every game.

The bats of Kyle Boulanger, Evan Beals, Nick Jacques and Hayden Shattuck
allowed the team to put pressure on their opponents in the early innings. Sound
defense from Carlos Camaigo, Charlie Laporte, Aiden Tierney, Ethan Doran, Jake
Dufour helped the pitching staff get out of many innings. Overall, it was a solid
season for the boys. Good luck to the eighth graders moving on to AHS next year.

Alvirne Softball Falls in the Quarterfinals to BG
in Seventh-Inning Comeback

Hudson~LitchfieldSports
by Sue Krzeminski
On June 3, the Alvirne Lady Broncos had the Bishop
Guertin Cardinals with their backs against the wall,
holding a 5 to 3 advantage, with only an inning to
go. The BG ladies dug deep and produced three runs,
enough to advance to the NHIAA Division 1 semi-
finals and end the season for Alvirne softball with the
6 to 5 comeback victory. The Lady Broncos stellar 14

and 6 season is over despite six hard-fought innings of
quarterfinals play vs. BG. At press time, Bishop Guertin
was scheduled to face Exeter on Wednesday, June 7 in
the semi-finals.
In the sixth inning, the Lady Broncos looked poised
for the playoff win as AHS scored three runs, gaining a
two-run lead. According to AHS Coach Sarah Brisks
game reports, Liz DeRosa led off with a triple to left
center field, scoring on a single up the middle from
Ashley Silva. Farrah Cestrone followed up with another
single up the middle. Ultimately, both Silva and
Cestrone would cross home plate thanks to yet another
single up the middle, this time from Alicia Salvalzo.
The Alvirne offense combined for multiple hits
from both Nicole Teague and Cestrone, bolstered by a
triple from DeRosa. In all, RBIs were earned by Alicia
Salvalzo (2), Sara Siteman, Teague and Silva. Alvirnes
Teague pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up six
runs (two earned) on eight hits. She struck out seven #5 Farrah Cestrone vs. BG Alicia Salvalzo takes the throw covering first vs. Timberlane. Pitcher Nicole Teague prepares to face a BG batter.
