KUBOTA ALLOY KHR12C

(Heat Resistant Alloy)

Kubota alloy KHR12C is an austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni-Nb casting alloy developed from the well known HH type II grade. This alloy is superior to
other grades in components that are subjected to frequent thermal cycling and shock. The alloy is available in both centrifugal and static cast-
ings.

Chemical Composition, wt.%: high-temperature strength and ductility. A moderate increase in

nickel content also contributes to greater strength and improves
Carbon 0.30-0.40 carburization resistance. The alloy is specifically designed for
Manganese 1.0 max components that are subjected to frequent thermal cycling and
Silicon 1.0 max shock. In heavy sections, castings of KHR12C have better
Chromium 23-26 weldability than HH II alloy. The alloy is suitable for long-term
Nickel 13-15 service at cyclic temperatures up to 1010 C (1850 F). The
Phosphorus 0.03 max long-term creep-rupture properties shown in Table 3 were ex-
Sulfur 0.03 max trapolated from Larson-Miller parameter versus stress plots.
