Lesson idea implementation: This project could fall at the end of a unit as a way for students to show what
they have learned or could be used in the beginning as a way to let them teach their peers about the
concepts. Students will be split into groups and asked to pick a topic they want to do their project on. They
can choose anything from the standards (Pythagorean Theorem, trigonometric function, triangle similarity,
conic sections, etc.). I would encourage the groups to pick different topics so the projects will not all be the
same. The students will then be asked to create a video on PowerPoint including the required information
about their chosen topic (history, definition, example, real life application). I included a very generic list of
slides I used, as well as, a completed example below. Students will be asked to create and narrate their video
within their group. Each person in the group should have a specific job assigned to them to ensure everyone
contributes. After the students create their videos they will be asked to share them with the class.
Instructions on how to create the video in PowerPoint:
After the slides of the presentation are completed click on the Slideshow tab.
