Dispositions mentioned on pages 4-5 of the Internship Guide. They are coded by their
appropriate K, S, and D numbers below.

Ms. Hornung had a brief (200 hours) but certainly well rounded experience in her practicum
at the high school level. She was involved in a number of different activities as they relate to
curriculum and instruction, scheduling of exams, technology and student discipline from the
perspective of a secondary school administrator.

II. PROFESSIONAL CRITERIA

pertinent comments about the internship experience.

A) 4 LEADERSHIP ABILITY (K1, K2, K3, S3, D1, D4, D6 - e.g. ability to inspire other, set
and reach goals, create positive action, solve problems, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Ms. Hornung displayed the fine traits of an action oriented leader in her practicum. She
took on the projects agreed to with her site supervisor and diligently focused on completing
them through an organized process and a collaborative nature with staff in the building.

B) 4 PROFESSIONAL MOTIVATION (D3, D4 - e. g. clear goals, high level of professional


interest and motivation, etc.)

COMMENTS:
It was very evident that Ms. Hornung exhibited a high degree of professional motivation in
her practicum. She set out to get exposed to many aspects of secondary level administration
and did so in a most successful manner.

C) 5 PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS (D2, D5, D6 - e.g. sense of humor, poise,


self-control, ability to handle crises and stress, honest, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Because of Ms. Hornungs confidence, poise and ability to relate to others, she easily
established a good rapport with the various groups she worked with in the high school
setting.

D) 5 INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS (D2, D3, D4, D4, D6 - e.g. ability to relate to others,
work with groups, acceptance of criticism, respect for others, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Ms. Hornung displayed the type of interpersonal relations that are critical to be successful as
a school building leader. Throughout her practicum, she used excellent listening skills, as
well as questioning skills and was a team player in bringing a variety of tasks to
commendable completion.

E) 5 PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE (K1, K2, K3, S1, S2, S3, D1, D2, D3, D4, D6 - e.g.
successful completion of tasks and assignments, demonstrates understanding of nature of
administration, includes dependability, demonstrates initiative, assumes responsibility, able
to work independently, punctual, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Ms. Hornung demonstrated laudable professional competence throughout her practicum.
Her strong work ethic, energetic manner and ability to work both independently and in
collaboration with others made her successful in this placement.

F) 5 WRITTEN COMMUNICATION (S1, S2 - e.g. fluency, accuracy, command of the


language, timeliness, grammar, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Ms. Hornung demonstrated the appropriate command of the written conventions of the
English language for an administrator and supervisor of faculty in all areas including fluency,
accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation.

G) 5 ORAL COMMUNICATION (S1, S2 - e.g. fluency, poise ability to articulate,


enunciation, grammar, etc.)

COMMENTS:
Ms. Hornung possesses and utilizes excellent oral communication skills. She articulates her
ideas in a clear, concise, professional manner.

H) ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (Comments/observations not covered in prior question areas)


This practicum provided Ms. Hornung with a wonderful opportunity to experience the
unique role and responsibilities of a secondary school administrator. She did not shy away
from the tasks presented to her to carry out and as a result, she has become much more
knowledgeable and confident in her abilities to become a school building leader.
