Watertown, NY June 21, 2017 Whether its developing safety technologies for
locomotives and freight cars or giving back to the community, the employees of New York Air
Brake, LLC (NYAB) are passionate about what they do. Maybe thats why passion is one of
the global corporate values that help drive the Watertown-based organizations vibrant
workplace. NYAB, a global manufacturer of innovative train control systems for the railroad
industry and member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, celebrated passion in the workplace by
hosting a half-day event for all employees this afternoon.
During its 2017 KB Values Day, NYAB hosted a catered lunch, awards ceremony, and relay
races where workers from across the business competed for the title of champion as well as
bragging rights as the most passionate team. Employees also stuffed 120 stuffed animals to
donate to Child Protective Services (CPS) as well as local Emergency Medical Rescue
Services (EMRS).
As individuals, as teams, and as a company, the people of New York Air Brake demonstrate
their passion every day, both within our walls, where their dedication to safety and quality are
unmatched, and in the community we call home, said NYAB President and CEO Mike
Hawthorne. I am immensely proud to be a part of this group that works so tirelessly to leave
everything it touches a little bit better.
The company honored Watertown resident, Chrystal Andreozzi, with the employee-
nominated individual Passion Award, while members of Team Seven: Alex Jordan, Sunil
Rajulapati, Tom Peterson, Keith Perry, Deb Elam, Anthony Disotell, Teddy Chapman, and
Johnathan Bernat earned the Team Passion Award by demonstrating the most teamwork and
commitment during events of the day.
