Course Description from Course Bulletin:
Mixed Chorus is an entry level choir designed to prepare students in the
fundamentals of choral music. Students will learn sight reading, choral technique
and quality repertoire. This ensemble will participate in at least one performance
during each Trimester.
Length of course:
One Trimester 0.5 Credits (1 Trimester - 0.5 credit)
Classroom Expectations:
Students are expected to do excellent work at all times. Individual responsibility is a
class requirement. All students are expected to demonstrate good musicianship in
class and at performances. All students are to be respectful and understanding to
others and must follow all school rules. All students must come to class prepared
with a pencil each day.
Make-up Policy:
Most rehearsals and all public performance can not be made up. Therefore it is
important for all students to be in class every day and at all mandatory
performances.
Students will learn the Movable DO sight reading system as well as vocal and choral
techniques relating to each individual piece of choral literature. Music theory, history
and listening will be included in each trimesters training.
