Congo Bars

Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
teaspoon salt
2/3 cup liquid shortening
1 lb box brown sugar
3 eggs
cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package chocolate chips

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Grease 10" x 15" pan.
3. In large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and liquid shortening.
4. Add eggs one at a time, combining after each.
5. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
6. Mix flour mixture into wet ingredients. Combine well.
7. Add chopped nuts, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Mix well.
8. Spread evenly in greased plan.
9. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
10. When slightly cool, cut into bars.
