LOS SANTOS POLICE DEPARTMENT

HANDBOOK
v 1.0
Written by Chief POLICE-K-9-UNIT and Owner of S.A.R.A MARINE_CORP_OPS

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Los Santos Police Department is to protect and serve the community. You
are the fine line that separates the lawful from the lawless. But above all, your mission is to
protect the community through any means necessary, whether it be through community
outreach programs, cadeting, traffic enforcement, general patrol, or, at a last resort, the use of
force.

IMPORTANCE OF OTHER DEPARTMENTS

The DOC is a very self-sustaining group. We can support ourselves and ensure our
survival, conduct ourselves in a professional manner, and go about our business with maximum
efficiency. However, we do not have the professional experience to handle medical calls and
fires. The LSFD was founded just for that purpose. They are vital to our survival and to the
survival of the community. Use them wisely, and often. If you are ever unsure about the medical
status of a civilian, officer, or any person you find on the street, be sure to rely on the LSFD for
assistance.
The DOC is very large. Consequently, we can effectively serve our community. But when
it comes to areas outside the city, specifically the countryside, the LSSD is ready and available
to help. They also have jurisdiction inside the City of Los Santos, so if any assistance is needed
and all available officers are either busy or unable to respond, be sure to rely on the Sheriffs
Department to be of assistance.

RADIO CALLOUTS/CODES
Radio callouts and codes are very important to know in the DOC. You'll only receive
department radio calls from PD/SD. Below will be an explanation of the codes you'll need, when
to use them, etc. Only use the department radio when you are either on duty or at the DOC.

DISPATCH
As a Police Officer, you will get many callouts for various situations. Some include
standard traffic duties such as providing traffic at a fire, or responding to an accident. Others
include

PD SUP: P123, this is A456

DOC: Go for P123
PD: I need you at ST. LAWRENCE and METROPOLITAN.
DOC: 10-4, P123 10-76 to ST. LAWRENCE and METROPOLITAN.

That gives you the general idea of what you will see come in over the DEPARTMENTS
radio. Note that only ONE person should reply, after the first person has said, 'Go for P123 or
'Go for PD', they will be the one to finish the radio call unless a higher ranking officer says
otherwise.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY CERTAIN RANKS ARE ALLOWED TO RESPOND TO THE
DISPATCH CALLS, PROVIDED THAT ENOUGH DOC MEMBERS ARE ON DUTY. READ
BELOW:

The Duty Commander/Supervisor is the highest ranking DOC Officer online. He/she can
dispatch units to scenes, authorize the use of force, authorize the use of a PIT Maneuver, and
direct scenes. He is the command.

COMMANDS
COMMUNICATION COMMANDS
(/r)adio - The radio allows you to communicate with all other active DOC officers. This is only to
be used in the case of needing backup, communication within the department, and such. Never
should it be used while you are off duty and going about your personal life.

(/d)epartment - The department radio allows you to communicate with all other active
employees. It is only to be used when another Government faction has called for you, or if you
need to call for PD/SD/FD.

(/m)egaphone - The megaphone is vital. It allows you to tell someone what you want at a
further range. If a prisoner is misbehaving, you can megaphone up to them to tell them to stop.
You can also ask traffic to move out of the way. Never should this be abused when off-duty.

(/fooc) - This is the Out of Character chat only available to DOC members. Use wisely.

RESPONSE COMMANDS
(/pdl) - The Police Dash Light is a small, rotator light that is placed on the van during a
transport. It is bright enough to reflect off of other drivers cars so they know when you're
approaching. It should only be used during transports.

(/flash) - This command is essentially a PDL located in the lightbar of the vehicle. It spawns two
beacons and should be used when responding.

(/siren) - This command serves the same purpose as /flash, but places beacons in the grill and
in the rear window. This can and should be used in conjunction with the /flash command.

DETAINMENT / ARRESTING COMMANDS

(/detain [playerid] [seat 1-3]) - Detain allows you to place a handcuffed (not rpcuffed) detainee
into the vehicle for transport. Seats 2-3 must be used on all vehicles, provided that such seats
exist (for example, the Police SUV (copcarru) does not have seats 2-3, and can only accept
seat 1. However, this SUV is normally not used for transport)

(/arrest [price] [time in minutes] [bail] [bail price]) - Arresting a new inmate will send them right
into jail. Make sure to gather the fine and time in jail from the arresting officer. For all offenses
less than $5000, a bail of double the fine can be applied. For all offenses over $5000, no bail
shall be set.

(/cuff and /uncuff) - The cuffs allow you to take away a person's movement. It should not be
used during RP scenarios until the suspect is being placed in a vehicle for transport.

(/su [ID] [Crime]) - Gives the criminal a wanted level and applies charges to the suspect. This is
used to provide a basis and reason for arrest. Usually used after a suspect is detained. Make
sure to gather the crimes from the arresting officer.

SELF-DEFENSE/CELL COMMANDS.
(/tazer) - The tazer is a vital tool for all DOC officers. It shall be used only when non-lethal force
is authorized (and lethal force is not), and only when the subject does not have a weapon. It
stuns the suspect and makes him collapse, allowing for a quick and easy arrest. NOTE: You
must declare the use of tazer before using it (for example, yell TAZER! TAZER! TAZER! or
TAZER DEPLOYED!)

(/frisk [playerid]) - When you frisk someone, you check them for illegal items. Anything they are
carrying illegally on them, you are to confiscate immediately before they are arrested and place
charges on them.

(/take [playerid] [item name]) - Taking is relevant to frisking and should be done afterwards.
Refer to the '/frisk' command to get a understanding of how it should be used.

THE LOCKER COMMAND

(/DOC) - This is the DOCs locker. This is where you get in your uniform, where you get
equipment, go on and off duty, etc. This is your foundation. Ask your supervisor about what you
are allowed to use from it.
