Read through entire instructions before beginning.

STOP: Stitch, Trim, Open & Press. The STOP method is the mainstay for the
making of the blocks used in every project found in this pattern. To perform the
STOP method, align a square (A) or rectangle (C) on the corner of the unit (B)
with right sides facing together. Draw a diagonal line and then sew along this
diagonal line. Trim a seam. Finger press the seam open and then press with a
hot iron. Pressing the seams open to reduce bulk is recommended.

UNITS, sew the Dark Grey (B)
rectangles on top of the White and Black (AA) units. Sew the White (C) squares on top
and the Dark Grey (D) rectangles on the bottom. Use the STOP method to add the
White (D) rectangles on the bottom of the Black (D) rectangles. Use the STOP method
to add the Background (C) squares on the bottom of the White (D) rectangles. Make a
right eye unit and a left eye unit for each block. Both eyes will be facing right.
Step 3: To make the NOSE UNIT, use the STOP method to add the White (J)
rectangles on the end of the Dark Grey (H) rectangles. Use the STOP method
to add the Light Grey (A) squares on the end of the White (J) rectangles. Use
the STOP method to add the Black (A) squares on the end of the White (K)
rectangles. Sew the (AJH) unit to the (KA) unit. Sew a Black (B) rectangle on
the bottom of the Light Grey (P) rectangle. Sew the (AJHKA) units to the
sides of the (PB) unit. Sew the EYE UNITS to the sides.

Step 4: To make the


CHEEK UNITS, use the
STOP method to add the
Light Grey (E) squares on
the corners of the White
(F) rectangles. Use the
STOP method to add the Dark Grey (G) squares on the opposite corner
of the White (F) rectangles. Use the STOP method to add the
Background (E) squares. Sew a Background (L) rectangle on the
bottom.

Step 5: To make the EARS UNIT, use the STOP method to


add the Light Grey (L) rectangles on the ends of the
Background (M) rectangles. Use the STOP method to add
the Light Grey (C) squares on the ends of the Background
(D) rectangles. Sew the (CD) units on the ends of the Light
Grey (N) rectangles. Sew the (LM) unit on the top.

Step 6: Sew the CHEEK UNITS made in Step 4 onto the sides of the NOSE UNIT made in Step 3. Sew the EARS UNIT made
in Step 5 to the top.

Step 7: Follow the steps above to make all the Dark and Light Grey blocks for your chosen setting. This will be one block
less than the total, as one Raccoon block will be made using the Dark Orange fabric in place of the Dark Grey and the Light
Orange fabric in place of the Light Grey.

Staggered COLUMNS (CRIB, LAP, TWIN & FULL) Quilt Assembly Instructions:
Step 1: According to the quilt setting you have chosen, sew the narrow Short Sashing strips to the bottom of all but the
last block in each column.
Step 2: Arrange your completed blocks into vertical columns. Sew the wide Short Sashing strips to the top and bottom of
the even numbered columns. Sew the blocks into columns.
Step 3: If your chosen setting calls for the Long Sashing strips, sew the Long Sashing strips to the right sides of the
columns. Sew the Side Border strips to the left side of the first column and the right side of the last column. Sew the
columns together.
Step 4: Sew the Top and Bottom Border strips to the top and bottom to complete your quilt top.
Step 5: Prepare your backing and batting. Baste the quilt. And quilt as desired. Trim and bind your quilt.

SUPER MINI (4 half sized blocks) Quilt Assembly Instructions:


Step 1: Arrange your completed blocks into 2 rows of 2 blocks. Sew the Short Sashing strips to the bottom of the top two
blocks. Sew the blocks into columns.
Step 2: Sew Long Sashing strip between the columns.
Step 3: Sew the Side Border strips to the sides.
Step 4: Sew the Top and Bottom Border strips to the top and bottom to complete your quilt top.
Step 5: Prepare your backing and batting. Baste the quilt. And quilt as desired. Trim your quilt to size and bind.

SINGLE BLOCK MINI (full sized block) Quilt Assembly Instructions:


Step 1: Sew the Side Border strips to the sides of the block.
Step 2: Sew the Top and Bottom Border strips to the top and bottom to complete your quilt top.
Step 3: Prepare your backing and batting. Baste the quilt. And quilt as desired. Trim and bind your quilt.
